REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma and equivalent work experience required.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Master’s degree in Special Education, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.</li>
<li>5+ years working with young people with disabilities in educational or vocational contexts.&nbsp;</li>
<li>An education or counseling background is strongly preferred, particularly experience with the special education system, IEP process, and/or transition-aged youth.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Previous experience in college access/success, vocational training, and/or job readiness programming is strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Skills in developing curriculum and learning resources.</li>
<li>Receptive and responsive to feedback on counseling practices, training, and other practices.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Self-directed, well-organized, and committed to program efficiency with a strong ability to multitask and collaborate within and across teams.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm, patient, and professional when faced with difficult or demanding situations.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Proficiency with Google Apps for Business (Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar), virtual conference platforms, and Microsoft Office; working knowledge of Salesforce preferred.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Willingness/ability to travel via public transportation to locations across the five boroughs.&nbsp;</li>

SALARY AND BENEFITS
This position is a union position (OPEIU, Local 153) and, as such, compensation and benefits are subject to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. The current base salary for this position is $70,000.

Role Description:

<li>10 month program with 30 day summer session</li>
<li>Responsibilities include: Assessing student's needs and abilities, and prepare lesson plans for a self-contained classroom.</li>
<li>Assess students’ developmental levels and design individualized plans utilizing behavioral approach based on theories of applied behavioral analysis and/or TEACCH principles.</li>
<li>Create developmentally sound and appropriate IEP goals and objectives focusing on areas of strengths, areas for improvement, and preferences for re-enforcers and motivational strategies.</li>
<li>Prepare daily schedule/lesson plan for each student with activities aligned to NYS Prekindergarten Foundation for the Common Core Standards or NYS Common Core Standards, informed by authentic assessment data, which advance school readiness goals and reflect the objectives contained in IEP; prepare Progress Reports and update IEP as needed; participate in review meetings.</li>

Regular full-time AACSB Scholarly Practitioner faculty members are expected to carry a teaching lead of nine credit hours one semester and twelve credit hours another semester. Credit hour equivalents for laboratory and studio classes will be calculated on a two contact hours per one credit hour basis. Reductions in teaching load may be considered where special research, supervision, professional, or administrative responsibilities exist</li>
<li>Thesis supervision is an integral part of graduate programs and some undergraduate programs. At the graduate and undergraduate level the equivalent teaching load shall be determined by the Chair based on the size and complexity of the work being carried out. Supervision of independent study work is considered to be normal faculty activity. Under​​​​​​​&nbsp;special circumstances the Dean may grant one or two credit hours reduction for 12 to 24 hours of independent study supervision</li>
