Mechanical Drafter Key Responsibilities including, but not limited to:
· Draft detailed drawings of parts or structures from rough or general designs for generation of silkscreens, prototypes, and products made by Production departments

· Stay abreast of all the latest ISO procedures within the Engineering and Design/Drafting departments, as applicable.

· Make mechanical packaging design decisions to achieve proper thermal, structural, and electrical performance. These include, for instance, items such as bracketry, thermal interfaces, weldments, material usage, mounting hardware, etc.
· Create and maintain symbols or library parts for the creation of documents and drawings.
· Document schematic and assembly drawing changes for review and processing as official Engineering Change Notices.
· Write technical reports and develop charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations.
Required Qualifications:
· Associate’s degree including Drafting/CAD courses
· Minimum 2 year’s drafting or related experience

Job Description
Job summary:
Working from given instructions, will load programs into the controller, review the program and set up work to be machined for production. Train machine operator on each manufacturing operation after first piece approval is complete.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Responsible for programming CNC mill/lathe via Mastercam and/or directly at the machine.</li>
<li>Accountable for complex set-ups, machine set-up and maintenance. Able to control product quality during production runs using calipers, dial bore gages, micrometers, etc.</li>
<li>Measures and works with tight tolerance in accordance with control plan, CAD models and blueprints.</li>
<li>Must be able to develop and machine fixtures with or without prints. </li>
<li>Working knowledge of proper machine operation and safety. </li>
<li>May work with prototypes for potential future work. </li>
<li>Must be able to develop and machine basic fixtures with or without prints.</li>
<li>Keeps work area clean and organized. </li>
<li>Must be able to change tools and offsets.</li>
<li>Must be able to develop machine process and tool selection.</li>
<li>Capable on instruction/trouble shooting of math, processing, work holding, speeds and feeds, deburring, programming, cad/cam, inspection, light machine repair/maintenance, format of set ups and programs, tooling selection and manual machining.</li>

Additional Responsibilities:

<li>When requested, may work on special projects and various related assignments.</li>
<li>May be requested to assist with quotes and process development.</li>
<li>Will be required to edit programs at machine. </li>
<li>May be requested to instruct other personnel on the machine operation.</li>
<li>May be required to work in various areas of operations when necessary.</li>
<li>Performs other related duties and assignments as required.</li>

<li>Knowledgeable on set-ups specifically CNC and manual mills/lathes.</li>
<li>Ability to read and understand blueprints, GD&amp;T and cad-cam software.</li>
<li>Must have knowledge of GD&amp;T and shop math. </li>
<li>Familiar with G and M codes.</li>
<li>Good communication skills.</li>
<li>Must be a good team player.</li>
