Rough Mill Utility Operator

We have a manufacturing opening for an experienced operator at our Manlius, NY facility.
General Description/Purpose: The Rough Mill Utility A will provide a high level of service to ensure employee, customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Rough Mill Utility A does this by the operation of various mechanical and computer aided machines which require the operator to set up, run and conduct basic maintenance of the equipment and may be required to run one or more than one machine. The Rough Mill Utility A is exposed to high volume of product and is responsible for dimensional and yield accuracy. The Rough Mill Utility A completes these functions in the manufacture of furniture parts and pieces.
 Job Responsibilities: 1. Identify a variety of wood species products including but not limited to the following wood species: Cherry, Mahogany, Oak, Maple, Birch, and Veneers and make grade related decisions on a daily basis based on established Stickley standards 2. Reports to their supervisor for direction daily and promptly report any questions or problems. 3. Read, comprehend, and full fill production tickets and print scan tags as needed 4. Read and Interpret part drawings 5. Inspect parts for quality and dimensional accuracy 6. Perform preventive maintenance as required by preventative maintenance sheets and correctly log any and all preventive maintenance done with any corresponding machine problems and or information 7. Set up work in the safest, most efficient manner per specifications and when no other jobs are noted as needed line up jobs in a manner that minimizes setup time 8. Assist in off bearing as needed 9. Operate assigned machines and mechanical and computer aided equipment/machines to produce required parts and pieces and achieve defined production goals 10. Handle a high volume of production through assigned machining centers while maintaining quality and dimensional accuracy

SUMMARY: A project manager plans, directs, and coordinates a wide variety of construction projects. A project manager schedules and coordinates all design and construction processes, including the selection, hiring, and oversight of trade contractors.
 DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES: 
<ul>
<li>Oversee the construction project from start to finish.</li>
<li>Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources needed.</li>
<li>Create the teams, develop the objectives/goals of each and assign individual responsibilities.</li>
<li>Project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking if team expenses and minimizing exposure and risk in the project.</li>
<li>Ensure that construction activities move according to pre-determined schedule. </li>
<li>Devise the project work plans and make revisions as and when need arises. </li>
<li>Communicate effectively with the contractors responsible for completing various phases of the Project.</li>
<li>Co-ordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include the architects, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors and laborers.</li>
<li>Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings with all the sub-teams.</li>
<li>Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality and safety.</li>
<li>Periodic inspection of construction sites.</li>
<li>Ensure project documents are complete. </li>
<li>Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims.</li>
<li>Serve as a key link with the clients and review the deliverable prepared by the team before passing onto client.</li>
<li>Coordinates with local building department on construction projects/issues.</li>
<li>Performs all other duties assigned. </li>

 SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE: None 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: A construction project manager must have a
bachelor's degree in construction science, construction management, building science, or civil engineering, plus work experience.
 
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years practical construction experience, whether gained through an internship, a cooperative education program, a job in the construction trades, or another job in the industry.
Strong and effective communication skills are key
to this role. Must have a thorough knowledge of legal issues and safety standard is essential.
 
OTHER QUALITIES : Ability to plan and organize a team effort. Good client management and goodwill ability. Capacity to motivate, lead and boost morale of the teams.
Effective time management and logical decision­ making ability. Ability to work under time sensitive deadlines. Strong focus on quality and detail.
