<ul> 
<li>Respond to all building emergencies.</li>
 
<li>Review, reads, notate, and initial Daily Log and Maintenance Log to document and learn about pertinent information and any resident's physical and behavioral changes and respond in a timely manner to requests and concerns from residents, family members, and team members.</li>
 
<li>Maintain all painted surfaces and flooring throughout the community.</li>
 
<li>Prepare the room(s) for new residents and assist with move-ins and move-outs.</li>
 
<li>Inspect the building façade periodically for damage and needed repairs.</li>
 
<li>Maintain the grounds by collecting trash, sweeping the dumpster areas, and cleaning first impression areas.</li>
 
<li>Perform all tasks outlined in the Facility Management Maintenance Manual.</li>
 </ul>
 Safety and Risk Management 
<ul> 
<li>Partner with leadership team to ensure community is in compliance with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety requirements and promoting Risk Management programs and policies.</li>
 
<li>Ensure the following procedures and practices are enforced as needed: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Lockout Tagout procedures.</li>
 
<li>Ensure any cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards are always kept out of the way.</li>
 
<li>Maintain equipment and supplies to avoid waste and damage to areas and equipment and to prevent accidents.</li>
 
<li>Comply with all infection control techniques, procedures, and policies.</li>
 </ul>
 Mechanical Systems 
<ul> 
<li>Maintain the HVAC system to ensure proper air quality and comfortable temperatures throughout the community.</li>
 
<li>Test, schedule inspections, and maintain proper documentation on the fire protection systems.</li>
 
<li>Conduct fire and disaster drills following the appropriate policy and procedure guidelines.</li>
 
<li>Test low voltage systems as required.</li>
 
<li>Maintain the interior and exterior lighting.</li>
 
<li>Maintain the plumbing system which includes monitoring and adjusting the resident accessible domestic hot water system to ensure code compliance.</li>
 
<li>Maintain the alarm systems for the community.</li>
 
<li>Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.</li>
 </ul>
 Administration 
<ul> 
<li>Maintain an accurate vendor/contractor telephone list with contact names and emergency telephone numbers.</li>
 
<li>Order equipment and supplies in compliance with Purchasing Department standards.</li>
 
<li>Ensure Building Management Platform logbooks are in compliance per federal, state/provincial, and Sunrise standards (temperature log, fire extinguisher log, cleaning log, bio-hazard removal log).</li>
 
<li>Partner with Government/Agency authorized personnel</li>
 </ul>
 Team Member Training 
<ul> 
<li>Train team members on the following: 
<ul> 
<li>Location and operation of all utility shut-off devices</li>
 
<li>Emergency response protocols</li>
 
<li>Housekeeping procedures</li>
 
<li>Laundry procedures</li>
 
<li>Safe chemical handling and usage</li>
 </ul>
 </li>
 </ul>
 Financial Management 
<ul> 
<li>Assist in the presentation and value of Sunrise's products and services for our residents, families, team members, and targeted referral sources.</li>
<li>Assist the executive director in completing the annual community budget.</li>
 
<li>Understand and manage the department budget to include labor/labour and other expenses and its impact on the community's bottom line.</li>
 
<li>Review monthly financial statements and implement plans of action around deficiencies.</li>
 
<li>Process and submit monthly expenses and budget data through APIM timely per Sunrise policies and internal business controls.</li>
 
<li>Coordinate with the community team to achieve maximum staff economies and cross training when applicable.</li>
 
<li>Understand the internal cost associated with all Sunrise resident care programs.</li>
 </ul>
 Training Leadership and Team Member Development 
<ul> 
<li>Manage the department, including but not limited to: recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, and disciplining.</li>
 
<li>Partner in the delivery and participation in Sunrise University Training and self-study programs during the required timeframe.</li>
 
<li>Develop a working knowledge of state/provincial regulations and ensure compliance through supervising and coaching team members.</li>
 
<li>Achieve the Team Member Engagement goals and actively lead in the Engagement Improvement Planning sessions.</li>
 
<li>Complete team member staffing and scheduling according to operational and budgetary guidelines.</li>
 
<li>Conduct daily review of timekeeping practices and payroll reports to ensure all hours worked are recorded and appropriately paid.</li>
 
<li>Conduct timely performance appraisals with meaningful conversations.</li>
 
<li>Hold team accountable and corrects actions when necessary and documents.</li>
 
<li>Attend regular meetings; Stand Up, Cross Over, Weekly Leadership, Town Hall, Quality Assurance Process Improvement, and others as directed by the Executive Director.</li>
 
<li>Keep abreast of professional developments in the field by reading, attending conferences and training sessions.</li>
 
<li>Maintain compliance in assigned required training and all training required by state/province or other regulating authorities as applicable to this role to ensure that Sunrise standards are always met.</li>
 
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>
 </ul>

 Experience and Qualifications 
<ul> 
<li>Demonstrates a high proficiency and understanding of systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical and code compliance</li>
 
<li>Experience preferred in maintaining water source heat pumps, as applicable</li>
 
<li>Possess an understanding of OSHA and life safety regulations</li>
 
<li>One (1) year supervisory and management experience which may include recruiting staff, coaching, performance management, and responsibility of daily department operations</li>
 
<li>Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel), and Sunrise applications with the ability to learn new applications</li>
 
<li>As applicable, all Sunrise team members who drive a Sunrise vehicle must review and sign the Driver job description and understand the key essential duties for safety and regulatory compliance</li>
 
<li>Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours to be available for our customers at peak service delivery days and times</li>
