Job Description
Major Law Firm is seeking an Attorney specializing in insurance defense to join their team.
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>5+ years of experience in civil litigation with a specialization in either motor vehicle negligence and/or general liability</li>
<li>Experience handling depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and other complex assignments</li>
<li>Experience in handling a full caseload</li>
<li>Experience in managing junior attorneys and/or staff</li>
<li>Excellent research, writing, and communication skills</li>
<li>Strong verbal and interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with less experienced attorneys, senior attorneys, partners, staff, clients, opposing counsel, and the court syste</li>
</ul>
Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>The successful candidate will have previously managed a full caseload of motor vehicle negligence claims and/or general liability claims</li>
<li>This candidate will also have managed junior attorneys and/or staff members in their case-related responsibilities</li>
<li>Draft pleadings, correspondence, memoranda, and other case related documents</li>
<li>Communicate with clients, insurance company contacts, and opposing counsel</li>
<li>Identify, research, and analyze legal issues and conflicting legal opinions</li>
<li>Take and defend depositions, handle arbitrations, and argue motions</li>
<li>Attend in-person and virtual court appearances</li>
<li>Record and disseminate all information on behalf of the clients</li>
<li>Analyze and summarize medical or other case related records and highlight important information</li>
<li>Write reports to clients analyzing issues and communicating the status of the case</li>
<li>Explain litigation to those unfamiliar with the process</li>
<li>Take charge of cases to move them toward cost effective, efficient, and fair resolutions</li>
<li>Juggle multiple assignments and/or deadlines</li>
<li>Manage junior attorneys and staff</li>
