Job Description:
Oppenheimer &amp; Co. Inc. is seeking a Paralegal to join our Legal Department in New York and will report directly to the Senior Paralegal. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, work independently, and demonstrate strong relationship management skills.
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Provide general administrative support, which includes but not limited to the creation, maintenance and editing of documents, spreadsheets, files, and presentations</li>
<li>Work closely with litigators to prepare for hearings</li>
<li>Prepare memos, pleadings, letters and other documentation as required</li>
<li>Conduct document production in arbitration and regulatory matters</li>
<li>Recordkeeping, including electronic and paper document and file management</li>
<li>Work closely and collaborate with various departments within the firm</li>
<li>Prioritize daily work, track progress of projects and deadlines, answer phones, take messages and schedule appointments</li>
<li>Assist in coordinating meetings including travel arrangements, ordering meals, lunch arrangements, meeting room preparation, and invitations</li>
<li>Actively participate in Zoom and in-person hearings</li>
<li>Participate in Ad hoc project work assigned by executives</li>

Qualifications:

Compensation:
For job postings in New York City, Oppenheimer is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. This salary range is specific to the City of New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making salary decisions including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 at the time of this posting. Key Responsibilities:

<li>Independently manage a litigation caseload, from inception through resolution.</li>
<li>Represent employers, private schools, and other institutions in a wide variety of employment, labor, and education law matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract and collective bargaining issues.</li>
<li>Provide day-to-day legal advice and training to clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment, education and labor laws.</li>

<li>Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates and strategic guidance.</li>

Qualifications

<li>JD from an accredited law school</li>
<li>Admitted to practice in the State of New York</li>
<li>2-5 years of litigation experience with a focus on employment, labor, and/or education law</li>
<li>Experience handling discrimination and wage and hour claims under federal, state, and local laws</li>
<li>Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills</li>
<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li>
</ul>
A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. 
Salary Range:$140,000—$170,000 USD
