JOB SUMMARY:
 
The Assistant Education Site Manager (AESM) supports the Education Site Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the assigned center. The AESM assists in providing leadership, supervision, and guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children and families. The role involves ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including the Head Start Program Performance Standards, the Head Start Act, and local and state regulations. The AESM collaborates with other team members to coordinate services and foster continuous program improvement.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Operational Support:** Assist the Education Site Manager in managing daily center operations, including ensuring adequate staffing and maintaining compliance with staff/child ratios and group sizes.</li>

<li>Child Assessments:** Ensure timely completion of child screenings and assessments, and assist in monitoring child outcomes data.</li>
<li>Special Education Support:** Work with the Health and Disabilities Coordinator to ensure timely evaluations and appropriate services for children with disabilities.</li>
<li>Family Engagement:** Build professional relationships with parents to encourage communication and engagement, supporting the Family Assistant in family partnership services.</li>
<li>Parent Communication:** Support communication with families regarding center activities, transitions, and other relevant matters.</li>
<li>Parent-Teacher Meetings:** Assist in planning and implementing parent-teacher conferences, home visits, and Parent Class Meetings.</li>
<li>Environment Monitoring:** Monitor indoor and outdoor learning areas to ensure a safe, nurturing, and conducive environment for children.</li>
<li>Meal Monitoring:** Oversee family-style mealtime and ensure accurate meal count reporting for CACFP reimbursement.</li>
<li>Staff Development:** Provide training and professional development opportunities for staff, including reflective supervision meetings and performance evaluations.</li>
<li>Management Collaboration:** Participate in Management and Education Team meetings, contributing to discussions on program improvement and compliance.</li>
<li>Recruitment and Hiring:** Assist in the recruitment and hiring process for new staff, including participating in interviews.</li>
<li>Documentation and Reporting:** Ensure accurate and timely completion of required documentation, including reports to various stakeholders.</li>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

<li>- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Master’s preferred)</li>
<li>- Minimum of one year of supervisory experience</li>
<li>- Minimum of two years of classroom experience with preschool-aged children</li>
<li>- Familiarity with Pre-K Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) and Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale (ECERS) preferred</li>
<li>- Education affiliations and certifications a plus</li>

Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG) seeks to fill a seasonal Membership customer care representative position. Clean bathroom facilities, including sinks, walls, and floors, and in common office areas and client bathrooms as specified by site.
 
 
Clean and refurbish all client areas as assigned per site requirement including turning over apartments in a timely manner.
 
Assisting with minor maintenance issues including but not limited to unclogging drains and toilets, minor carpentry, plumbing work.
 
Assist in maintaining client apartments which may include but not limited to painting, installing blinds, mattresses bunk beds, day beds, cleaning out refrigerators and stoves bathrooms sinks, other light carpentry work. 
 
Assist with grounds clean up, responsible for maintaining a clean and safe exterior of the facility.
 
Assist in moving furniture and belongings as needed of clients into and out of apartments/rooms.
 
Responsible for storing and retrieving deliveries and supplies as needed.
 
Responsible for maintaining tools, supplies, and equipment.
 
Assist other staff with assignments when needed. 
 
The availably to work nights and weekend which may include a revolving shift.

QUALIFICATIONS:
