Classroom and Daycare Aide Duties and Responsibilities:
This role involves providing services to children as outlined in their Life Plan or Individual Service Plans (ISP). It includes assisting the teacher and therapists in implementing the preschool curriculum and individual goals, as well as helping maintain the overall organization of classroom equipment, supplies, and physical space. The position supports the creation of educational materials and displays, including children's art, curriculum themes, and decorations for special events. Additional responsibilities include supervising students throughout the school day, including during arrival and dismissal, assisting with diapering, toileting, and toilet training as needed, preparing morning and afternoon snacks, helping supervise lunch, and preparing activities and meals for daycare children.

About the Role: High School Science Teacher
As a High School Science Teacher at Uncommon Schools, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of future scientists. Collaborating with a network of passionate educators, you will equip students with the tools and knowledge to critically engage in the field of science, fostering self-directed learners. Your Responsibilities
1. Instruction
<ul>
<li>Teach a dynamic curriculum covering Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Sciences, preparing students for Advanced Placement (AP) and collegiate-level coursework.</li>
<li>Develop students’ skills in questioning, modeling, constructing explanations, data analysis, argumentation, and conducting interactive labs.</li>
<li>Create a classroom environment where students feel confident to engage in scientific discourse.</li>
<li>Facilitate student-led discussions, encouraging evidence-based claims and critical thinking.</li>
<li>Guide students through inquiry-based projects and lab performance tasks.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the Science department to set academic and engagement goals.</li>
</ul>
2. Data Analysis
<ul>
<li>Meet weekly with your principal and/or instructional coach to analyze student work and assessment trends.</li>
<li>Implement strategies to differentiate instruction for all learners.</li>
</ul>
3. School Culture
<ul>
<li>Build positive relationships with students, ensuring they feel seen, loved, and heard.</li>
<li>Partner with families to provide resources that support their child's learning needs.</li>
<li>Engage in professional development, mentorship, and coaching sessions.</li>
<li>Participate in weekly school-wide meetings to foster community and encourage student achievement.</li>
<li>Collaborate with your grade-level team to develop academic goals and instructional strategies.</li>

<li>Required Experience:

<li>1-2 years of experience impacting K-12 students in urban schools preferred.</li>
<li>Academic expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.</li>
<li>A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required. Certification is not mandatory at hiring, but you must meet NY state certification eligibility requirements and enroll in a teacher preparation program if you do not have a degree in education.</li>

Compensation
The salary for this role ranges from $50,000 to $64,700. Starting pay is determined by various factors, including relevant teaching experience and education certifications.

Position Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Speech or Debate Coach to lead a rookie team at Rochester Prep High School. This part-time role is crucial in guiding our students on their paths to and through college. Competitive programs not only enhance college admissions prospects but also foster persistence in higher education.
Your Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Preparation &amp; Practice: Dedicate up to 6 hours a week to prepare for projects, competitions, and after-school practices.</li>
<li>Conduct long-term coaching sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1 hour each day, from August to June.</li>
<li>Engage in at least 6 hours of practice outside school hours weekly, working directly with students.</li>
<li>Coordinate with internal staff regarding any absences due to team tournaments during standard work hours.</li>
</ul>
Competition Management
<ul>
<li>Identify and research at least 6 weekend tournaments over a 6-month period.</li>
<li>Register for competitions in collaboration with the school-based Enrichment Program Manager.</li>
<li>Coach and travel with students to all competitions, ensuring they are well-prepared.</li>
<li>Participate in at least one nationally recognized competition, such as those organized by the National Speech &amp; Debate Association.</li>
<li>Chaperone students to at least 2 regional/local competitions to prepare for national events.</li>
</ul>
Family Engagement
<ul>
<li>Work with the Enrichment Program Manager to confirm team member commitments through signed parent permission forms.</li>
<li>Establish a family communication protocol using the Remind app to keep families updated on competitions and practices.</li>
</ul>
What We Offer
As a coach, you will receive an annual stipend ranging from $3,500 to $4,000, based on your experience and contracted hours per week, paid semi-monthly. Please note that if you stop performing your responsibilities at any point during the year, your stipend will be adjusted accordingly.
