Adjunct faculty position with teaching responsibilities in one or a combination of the departments of foundational sciences, clinical sciences, principles of healthcare practice, integrated chiropractic therapies, or health centers in alignment with professional training in clinical psychology. Teaching responsibilities in the health centers includes management of patient care. 
 
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Responsible to the Dean of Faculty and Research for all aspects of the educational program. Responsible to the Dean of Clinical Education / Health Center Administrator for all clinical responsibilities.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. General
The faculty consists of all individuals in the employ of Northeast College holding academic rank and engaged in instructional, scholarly and professional, or academic service activities for the College. These activities include, but are not limited to: laboratory, classroom, online, and health center instruction; work of professional librarians; course and curriculum development; research; participation in student advising, enrollment management functions, College governance; and service to one’s profession.
B. Teaching
• Each instructor is responsible for planning and presenting course material; establishing course objectives and requirements, and communicating them to students; selecting and ordering texts and supplemental materials; preparing, administering and grading papers and examinations; and assigning grades without discrimination, in accordance with the nondiscrimination policy as it appears in the College catalog.
• Specific responsibilities include providing students with appropriate, current course material consistent with the overall curriculum; assuring student comprehension and competency; and providing unbiased outcome assessments.
• Demonstrates mastery of the following characteristics and traits: command and analytical approach to subject matter, recognition and evaluation of variant interpretations of appropriate data, and integration of current knowledge within the field into traditionally accepted subject matter.
• Clearly explain expectations and subject matter, recognize student levels of comprehension, define objectives, summarize major points, organize material logically, and emphasize important ideas. 
• Encourage student participation and interaction, be sensitive to class response, deal with students ethically, allot ample time for consultation, and seek a professional rapport with student. 
• Motivate and academically challenge students, be dedicated to subject material and the teaching profession, display self-confidence, and communicate a sense of enthusiasm for pursuit of knowledge.
• Faculty must be prepared and willing to academically assist, advise and counsel students regarding their work in classes and to recognize when a student requires professional assistance with problems of a personal or academic nature so that professional help can be obtained.
• As a Faculty Clinician, adhere to policies and procedures for delivering patient care at your assigned health center site.
C. Research and Scholarly Activities
Activities in this area are typically project-oriented: basic science or clinical research, authorship of a book or journal article, and scholarly media productions within one’s area of expertise. 
D. Citizenship
Citizenship takes many forms, depending upon individual interests, and all faculty are encouraged to lend their talents to benefit the College community, the professional and/or academic community, and the local community.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Possess earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the field in which they are teaching from an accredited institution.
• Faculty who supervise clinical experiences must possess a license to practice in any jurisdiction where they are assigned. 
• A demonstrated aptitude for teaching health science students. 
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to function in a team.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.

General Description:
Reporting to the Dean of Clinical Education/Assistant Dean of Clinical Education, the Faculty Clinician is responsible to supervise and work with clinical students to provide quality patient care and complete required documentation for both patient care and student education. The position is an appointment requiring service to the College divided among teaching, research and scholarly activity, and citizenship in a manner that promotes continuity and equality among faculty, staff and students. 
Organizational Relationships:
<ul>
<li>Responsible to the Dean of Clinical Education/Assistant Dean of Clinical Education.</li>
<li>Works closely with health center faculty, staff and students.</li>
</ul>
General Responsibilities:
The faculty consists of all individuals in the employ of Northeast holding academic rank and engaged in instructional, scholarly and professional, or academic service activities for the College. These activities include, but are not limited to: laboratory, classroom, online, and health center instruction; work of professional librarians; course and curriculum development; research; participation in student advising, enrollment management functions, College governance; and service to one’s profession.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
<ol>
<li>Manage patient care within the approved policies and procedures of the Northeast health centers.</li>
<li>Develop and utilize relevant marketing to grow faculty practice expectations per the Faculty Handbook to support student learning.</li>
<li>Responsible for all patient health care decisions to include evaluation, management and recordkeeping.</li>
<li>Be a consultation resource for other faculty members.</li>
<li>Provide hands on mentoring and foster a critical thinking environment for student education.</li>
<li>Oversee student conduct, proficiency, professionalism and compliance with health center standards.</li>
<li>Oversee and issue quantitative and qualitative credits and provide feedback to students regularly. </li>
<li>Assist with clinical education activities (evaluations, orientation, remediations, OSCE, mentor meetings, etc.) as needed.</li>
<li>Engage students in a variety of clinical activities while ensuring appropriate continuity of patient care.</li>
<li>Participate in health center meetings as well as mandatory professional development activities. </li>
<li>Maintain clean and orderly patient treatment areas and report any equipment needing repair. </li>
<li>Participate on College committees and task forces as assigned.</li>
<li>Maintain active involvement with professional, national and state organizations important to clinical, educational, and administrative responsibilities.</li>
<li>Develop a professional development plan in conjunction with the Dean of Clinical Education/Assistant Dean of Clinical Education.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>
</ol>
Methods of Accountability
<ul>
<li>Verbal and written communications with the Dean of Clinical Education/Assistant Dean of Clinical Education , health center faculty, staff and students as well as other College stakeholders.</li>
<li>Written feedback from students, patients and other College constituents.</li>
<li>Annual performance evaluations by the Dean of Clinical Education/Assistant Dean of Clinical Education .</li>
<li>Compliance with College’s policies.</li>
</ul>
Mental and Physical Requirements
<ul>
<li>Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills. </li>
<li>Professional demeanor. </li>
<li>Basic proficiency in PC use and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and willingness to learn/use additional software platforms used for electronic health records and student education.</li>
<li>Manage stressful situations in a fast-paced, multi-task work environment.</li>
<li>Perform all services expected of a licensed clinician and exhibit responsible clinical judgement.</li>
<li>Occasional travel may be required.</li>
</ul>
Education, Training and Experience
<ol>
<li>Doctor of Chiropractic degree.</li>
<li>Appropriate professional licensure to practice in New York State.</li>
<li>Post-graduate degrees, diplomates and certificates are preferred.</li>
<li>Ongoing professional development is expected. </li>
</ol>

HANAC, Inc., originally founded by George Douris as the Hellenic American Neighborhood Action Committee, is a New York City-based multi-faceted social services organization. Established in 1972, HANAC was created to serve the needs of vulnerable populations throughout New York City.
The Job-Readiness Counselor&nbsp;will be under the direct supervision of an SYEP/WLG Employment Specialist and will provide an appropriately safe, caring, and enriching environment for youth enrolled in Hellenic American Neighborhood Action Committee (HANAC) programming. They are responsible for establishing and maintaining working relationships with worksite supervisors. It is essential for them to conduct themselves appropriately and set a positive example for all stakeholders, including participants, parents, and co-workers. Counselors will assist youth in making informed choices and planning for meaningful futures by facilitating orientations, workshops, and project-based learning activities. The program goals include:

<li>Developing young people's&nbsp;work readiness and social and job skills.</li>
<li>Providing safe work environments.</li>
<li>Adhering to agency policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Providing integral support services across program units.</li>

Major Functions/Accountabilities:
<ul>
<li>Conduct enrollment, worksite orientations, participant orientations, &amp; workshop components.</li>
<li>Act as liaison to worksites.</li>
<li>Maintain and update all participants’ employment files.</li>
<li>Work closely with Employment/Education Specialist, Job Developer, Education/Youth Employment Coordinator, and Program Aide/Assistant to ensure that participants are attending employment and educational trainings.</li>
<li>Participate in the distribution of debit cards to participants. </li>
<li>Enable youth to acquire positive work habits and develop employment‐related skills</li>
<li>Light administrative duties such as making phone calls, emailing, faxing, copying, and making packets.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot any issues that may arise at worksites and help participants and employers to come to a mutual agreement upon resolutions</li>
<li>Intervene as needed to remove participants from work sites and handle potential reassignment in conjunction with the Job Developer and Youth Employment Coordinator.</li>
<li>Complete weekly assessments, including a written summary of the week based on conversations with worksite supervisors and participants and field observation. Conduct weekly interviews with both the participants and worksite supervisors as part of weekly assessment reports.</li>
<li>Distribute and collect all relevant documents from worksites, including timesheets, evaluations, and reflections, and ensure accuracy and completion to meet strict deadlines.</li>
<li>Submit timesheets, weekly assessments, and any other relevant documents to the Youth Employment Coordinator promptly using Dropbox, google drive, and other assigned platform</li>
<li>Assisting with payroll verification as need</li>
<li>Participate in weekly meetings with the Youth Workforce team</li>
<li>Attend staff meetings and professional development training as required</li>
<li>Complete Basecamp check-ins twice per day</li>
<li>Assist with other department duties and projects as needed</li>
</ul>
Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Ability and patience to work with youth, particularly&nbsp;in group settings.</li>
<li>Travel within NYC: use public transportation or traverse city streets, occasionally ascend/descend stairs, and be exposed to outside weather conditions.</li>
<li>Ability to work with the public and/or youth.</li>
<li>Remain in a stationary position at a workstation and use a computer at least 50% of the time.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma or GED, AA/AS degree a plus.</li>
<li>Minimum three years' experience in Youth Services.</li>
<li>Minimum three years of supervisory experience.</li>
<li>Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Word/Excel;&nbsp;demonstrated work proficiency with the Internet.</li>
<li>Excellent verbal, writing, math, and interpersonal skills are required.</li>
<li>Ability to serve as a strong role model and provide guidance to young workers</li>
<li>Passion for youth and community development</li>
<li>Flexibility in schedule, including occasional evenings/weekends</li>
<li>Bilingual, English/Spanish a plus.</li>
