The Job-Readiness Counselor&nbsp;will be under the direct supervision of an SYEP/WLG Employment Specialist and will provide an appropriately safe, caring, and enriching environment for youth enrolled in Hellenic American Neighborhood Action Committee (HANAC) programming. They are responsible for establishing and maintaining working relationships with worksite supervisors. Major Functions/Accountabilities:

<li>Complete weekly assessments, including a written summary of the week based on conversations with worksite supervisors and participants and field observation. Conduct weekly interviews with both the participants and worksite supervisors as part of weekly assessment reports.</li>
<li>Distribute and collect all relevant documents from worksites, including timesheets, evaluations, and reflections, and ensure accuracy and completion to meet strict deadlines.</li>
<li>Submit timesheets, weekly assessments, and any other relevant documents to the Youth Employment Coordinator promptly using Dropbox, google drive, and other assigned platform</li>
<li>Assisting with payroll verification as need</li>
<li>Participate in weekly meetings with the Youth Workforce team</li>
<li>Attend staff meetings and professional development training as required</li>
<li>Complete Basecamp check-ins twice per day</li>
<li>Assist with other department duties and projects as needed</li>

Requirements:

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will focus on studying brain structure and functional connectivity at the forefront of computational neuroscience. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of neuroscientists, software developers, and data scientists to design, implement, validate, and disseminate open-source tools that integrate mesoscale neurotransmitter receptor maps into neural mass modeling simulation environment, and extend existing brain simulation tools to explore the biological underpinnings of functional.
Reporting into the Director, Integrative Developmental Neuroscience, this is a full-time position on a hybrid schedule (minimum of 4 days per week in office).

You Will:

FOCUS
To apply a patient-centered approach while performing treatments, making patient assessments, and all other aspects of patient care. This role will promote learning and growth as an emergency veterinary technician, providing opportunities for advancement towards a Veterinary Technician Specialist certification and participating in the coordination of care. Veterinary technicians autonomously function using critical thinking and leadership to carry out patient treatment plans in coordination with the veterinary team.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO
<ul>
<li>Coordinate with nursing leadership in your hospital to identify both individual and team training needs. </li>
<li>Continually assess Assistants and Nurses to determine competency of skills through in-person observations and content knowledge evaluations, leading to advancement in the VEG Cultivate level system. This will be both through direct assessments and through creating a team of qualified individuals who can help with the volume of assessment. </li>
<li>Implement VEG training programs within your hospital and act as point person for these programs (i.e. New ER Nurse)</li>
<li>Autonomously manage your time between on-the-floor mentoring and dedicated time in setting strategy to develop nursing care teams. </li>
<li>Facilitate in-person training for Assistants and Nurses at your hospital based on identified hospital needs. This includes both providing direct 1:1 training to team members and setting up peer training opportunities within your team. </li>
<li>Collaborating through your network and with your RND, you maximize opportunities for your hospital VEGgies, and those in your VEG community to expand educational outreach.</li>
<li>Work with Nursing Education to discuss program development, training objectives, and additional needs.</li>
<li>Provide educational opportunities for the nursing team, such as webinars, labs, workshops.</li>
<li>Engage in self-reflection and program evaluation practices to modify and enhance the assistant and technician leveling program.</li>
<li>Ensure all training content and activities are in alignment with VEGs culture, mission, and vision, and represents accurate, up-to-date emergency medicine and standards of care.</li>
<li>Divide time with roughly 70-80% of time providing direct training and 20-30% of time on administrative/organizational work. </li>
<li>Assist in developing curricular materials such as powerpoints, videos, simulations, and assessments to be implemented across the assistant and technician training program</li>
</ul>
WHAT YOU NEED
<ul>
<li>Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the location of the VEG practice with experience in emergency medicine</li>
<li>A love for teaching and nurturing growth in fellow veterinary technicians and assistants.</li>
<li>Modeling the way towards a culture of learning. </li>
<li>Certified as a Veterinary Technician Specialist in ECC is strongly preferred. VTS in Internal Medicine and Anesthesia also preferred with requisite experience in ECC. </li>
<li>Previous experience in a training role or training veterinary technicians preferred </li>
<li>Comfortable mentoring others and ability to give and receive feedback from colleagues and mentees</li>
<li>Flexibility in your schedule to be able to work with VEGgies on various shifts</li>
<li>The right attitude: Positive, upbeat, excited. Flexible to change (adapt and pivot)</li>
<li>Embody all things VEG and be excited to share your perspective</li>
<li>Ability to recognize and celebrate other VEGgies' successes when you see it</li>
<li>Ability to coordinate training projects with multiple teams.</li>
<li>Happy to help support newer VEG veterinarians in their skills training, as requested</li>
<li>Willingness to travel within local region to surrounding VEG Hospitals </li>
<li>Willingness and eager to continue to grow as a nurse through developing personal skills and knowledge</li>
