The New York City Criminal Justice Agency (CJA) is a not-for-profit service and research organization that operates in partnership with the New York City Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice.  CJA is the City's main pretrial services agency, combining operations, pilot projects, and research under one roof.  CJA utilizes procedural justice practices to provide pretrial services to over 100,000 persons arrested annually in New York City. Information collected about these arrestees and subsequent case processing is maintained in the agency's internal and externally shared database systems, which are used to conduct descriptive and evaluation research on arrestee characteristics, case processing and court outcomes, and on issues and potential reforms to criminal justice policy in New York City. PROGRAM SUMMARY
The Criminal Justice Agency (CJA), a non-profit organization under contract with the City of New York to provide pre-trial and research services to the courts, operates a Supervised Release Program in Queens Criminal Court.
The program, which operates during the day and night court in Queens screens defendants charged with non-violent felony and misdemeanor offenses that present a substantial likelihood of detention. CJA screens targeted defendants for release at criminal court arraignment, subject to specific conditions including maintaining face-to-face and telephone contact with the program, participating in an assessment process to identify needs such as substance abuse and mental health, and agreeing to program monitoring of court appearances and re-arrests.
This is a great opportunity for a dynamic, resourceful, service-oriented individual with lived experience and a background in providing support to high needs populations with criminal court involvement, and a commitment to helping participants avoid harmful behaviors leading to re-arrest and disconnection from community support systems.
Position Summary
The Peer Coordinator ICM reports directly to the Peer Supervisor ICM and supports all peer team coordination tasks and administrative duties. The Peer Coordinator ICM is also responsible for providing holistic, person-centered support and mentorship to a team of Peer Specialists. The Peer Coordinator also facilitates internal and external wellness and recovery groups for staff and program participants. They will also serve as the direct liaison between external organizations and the peer staff when helping clients understand the benefits of referrals being made.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will report directly to the Peer Supervisor ICM. You will be tasked with the following responsibilities:

<li>Provide support and mentorship to a team of Certified Peer Specialist.</li>
<li>Support the Peer Supervisor with all team coordination and administrative duties, including review and assignment of Peer referrals and re-arrest/mandatory programming/weapons charges cases. The Peer Coordinator will serve as acting Peer Supervisor in the Supervisor's absence.</li>
<li>Conduct internal program chart reviews on a quarterly basis, as well as capturing data and tracking outcomes of referrals and assignments.</li>
<li>Support the Peer Supervisor in the development and facilitation of evidence-based groups, training, and team-building activities to increase team engagement and development. Will also assist with the onboarding of new Peer staff.</li>
<li>Assist in ensuring the team is adhering to all QSRP and agency policies and procedures</li>
<li>Will be responsible for managing a small caseload of participants with complex needs requiring experienced Peer support on a case-by-case basis. Provide advocacy, outreach and engagement, referral assistance, self-help tools, recovery support, transitional support, and pre-crisis/crisis supports in office, community, or virtual settings (i.e., telephonic support, video calls/chats, etc.)</li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>HS Diploma required. Some college preferred.</li>
<li>OASAS/OMH Peer Specialist Certification (both NYS Certified Peer Specialist and NYS Certified Recovery Coach or Certified Recovery Peer Advocate) required.</li>
<li>3 years of professional experience as a Peer Specialist, Peer Advocate, or Peer Counselor in a Behavioral Health or Criminal Justice setting required. Experience providing community-based Peer support to underserved communities and populations required.</li>
<li>History of lived experience in recovery and/or the criminal justice system required. As an individual who actively participates in their own recovery from mental illness and/or substance use, must be willing to appropriately and effectively utilize their recovery experience to engage and support others</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of and demonstrated ability to apply person-centered, recovery-oriented practices and principles</li>
<li>Proficiency in using computer software applications such as Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), email, web browser and database/file management systems required</li>
<li>Experience with online communication tools such as video conferencing (Teams, Zoom, etc.), chat, and collaboration software required</li>
<li>Certification in Wellness and Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) and Intentional Peer Support (IPS) preferred</li>
<li>Knowledge of NYC Court Operations, preferred</li>

Role: Substitute Lead Teacher 
 
Department: Child Care Center 
 
Reports to: Education Director
 
Location: Staten Island, NY (on-site)
 Compensation: $31.11 per hour
 Employment Type: Per diem
 
Job Summary: 
The Substitute Lead Teacher is responsible for general administrative duties as assigned, for supervision of subordinate staff, and for planning, preparing, and implementing daily activities, monitoring children’s progress, and maintenance of related records for assigned classroom. The Substitute Lead Teacher promotes the center’s philosophy and educational objectives. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
 
Supervising a given group of children
· Supervise the planning and execution of a program to provide day care for children which takes into account the educational, social, developmental and health needs of the group, as well as that of the individual child.
· Take responsibility for keeping equipment and material accessible and in good condition to encourage maximum constructive use by the children.
· Take responsibility for removing or reporting any damaged or hazardous equipment to the director or other designated person so that necessary action may be taken.
· Take responsibility for planning and supervising an appropriate arrangement of his/her own classroom furniture designed to promote optimal program functioning.
· Share In the overall planning for the best use of shared space In relation to the total center program.
· Plan the use of community resources to enrich the educational content of the children's program.
· Develop a program of sound educational goals appropriate to the age and developmental level of children that will enable them to make the most of future educational opportunities.
 
Promoting the professional growth of classroom associates
· Share with classroom associates their mutual knowledge and understanding of the sponsoring agency and the community that their center serves.
· Take responsibility for the professional growth and development of the classroom associates through regularly scheduled individual and classroom group conferences based on daily observation of the associates' performance within the group and their applications of new skills as acquired through training and experience.
· In cooperation with the director, assist in the annual evaluation of the job performance of the classroom associates.
· Take responsibility for equitable sharing among all classroom personnel relating to all areas of the program.
 
Promoting sound parent relationships
· Developing an appropriate plan by which information concerning the children and program can be shared with the parent, the teacher, and associates.
· Attend and participate in group parent meetings.
· Respect the confidential nature of all information about parents and children.
 
Maintaining objective staff relationships
· Maintaining good working relationships and objective attitudes with other staff members,
 
Conducting regular group conferences
· Assuming responsibility for planning and conducting regular group conferences with classroom associates, encouraging their attendance and participation in workshops and conferences designed to further their professional growth. ·
 
Cooperating in self-evaluation
· Assuming responsibility for discussing his or her own professional performance objectively in regularly scheduled supervisory conferences with the director. Using these conferences as a source of information and professional guidance.
 
Record writing
· Writing, keeping, using, and sharing with appropriate staff members such as are required and necessary for the effective administration of the center, the development of the program, work with the individual child, students, and volunteers.
 
Accepting administrative responsibilities
· Accepting responsibility when required for fulfilling the overall administrative function in the director's absence.
 
Other related duties, as assigned, consistent with the above.

Job DescriptionSalary: 
POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the direction and daily supervision of the Site Supervisor, the Elementary School Youth Educator will be responsible for facilitating and implementing enrichment programs for participants in K through 5th grade. The Youth Educator will work in collaboration with other staff members towards providing a program that fosters a student's academic and social growth.
REQUIREMENTS: Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma, Associate Degree or qualifying credits and be at least 18 years of age. Must possess two or more years of experience and/or training in, education, elementary school youth, recreation and/or any other youth services field. Must have strong classroom management skills. Ability to develop lesson plans. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have adaptability in the workplace; including but not limited to working remotely and providing youth services and support through virtual platforms.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree. 2 or more years of relevant experience. Expertise in a special area (STEM, Recreation, Art, Music, Dance, Chess, Cooking, etc.)
Responsibilities:

<li>Research, develop and execute fun and engaging lesson plans (activities) to create opportunities for discovery, learning, adventure and recreation.</li>
<li>Provide group and/or individual assistance to youth in their learning and engagement as well as supporting their development.</li>
<li>Participate in indoor and outdoor activities assisting with daily set-up, daily clean up, and overall procedures.</li>
<li>Complete invoicing for families who pay monthly tuition</li>
<li>Snack ordering (tracking of snack on site)s</li>
<li>Supplies ordering for program</li>
<li>Complete invoicing for ACS vouchers</li>
<li>Use behavior management strategies to address misbehaviors effectively, promptly communicate behavior incidents with supervisors and other necessary staff and provide guidance and behavior modification as needed.</li>
<li>Serve as a role model for all participants in our program.</li>
<li>Complete necessary reports to track student progress and participation; daily attendance logs, pick-up sign-in sheets, etc.</li>
<li>Responsible for area materials, room organization and reporting misused/damaged materials to the supervisor.</li>
<li>Professionally communicate with all staff, guardians, children, and community members in a polite and respectful manner.</li>
<li>Uphold program policies and procedures while promoting an inclusive, welcoming and respectful environment that embraces the diversity of all staff, participants and stakeholders.</li>
<li>Actively participate in mandatory professional development training and meetings.</li>
<li>Perform other related duties as assigned</li>
