JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Team Leader/Program Supervisor or designee, Peer Specialists serve as role models, educate recipients about self-help techniques and self-help group processes, teach effective coping strategies based on personal experience, teach symptom management skills, assist in clarifying rehabilitation and recovery goals and assist in the development of community support systems and networks. The Peer Specialist assists assigned individuals in developing and maintaining viable living, working and social situations in the community by obtaining needed medical, social, psychosocial, educational, financial, vocational and other services. Travels to/visits recipients' residences or apartments to provide counsel and assistance and to help the recipients, within their capabilities and interests, in maintaining the greatest degree of independent living. Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of High School Access, the Test Prep Tutor will provide individual and/or small-group tutoring to boys 10 - 14 years old. Tutors will be strongly supported by the Director of High School Access and are responsible for planning their own lessons and finding materials. He/she will work with members to prepare them for the core high school admissions exams including but not limited to, the SSAT, SHSAT, and TACHS. We are seeking a reliable, highly motivated candidate with a strong record of working with middle school students and young people. 
Job Requirements

Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Plan, organize, and implement appropriate programs and lesson plans to enhance skill development of participants and prepare them for specialized high school admissions tests</li>
<li>Work regularly with the Director of High School Access and other relevant staff to assess the needs of individual students and adapt lessons to meet those needs</li>
<li>Observe and track member progress and attendance</li>
<li>Reinforce positive student behavior and clubhouse rules; maintain a positive relationship with all members, families and staff</li>
<li>Write, implement and adapt a curriculum and training methods that meets participants’ interests</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
<li>Attend required department meetings and professional development trainings</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in a relevant field</li>
<li>At least 2 years of experience as a Writing, Reading, and/or English Tutor or classroom teacher</li>
<li>Experience working with students from 6-18 years old</li>
<li>Knowledge of NYC school standards preferred</li>
<li>Strong communication and organizational skills</li>
<li>Ability to adapt to a changing environment and to address the varying needs of the boys</li>

SSAT / SHSAT Tutor - Harlem, NY

Job Description
The Leffell School is a dynamic, K-12 independent Jewish school serving approximately 865 students in Westchester County, 30 minutes north of New York City. We emphasize academic excellence, traditional Jewish learning and values, and a strong sense of community. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Hebrew teacher to join our High School Hebrew Team, teaching grades 9-12 for the coming school year at our Upper School, located in Hartsdale, New York. The ideal candidate understands students and their needs and is a collaborative colleague who is capable of creating dynamic and active lessons that engage students in content while teaching critical skills related to the four strands of language acquisition: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. He or she will have mastery in multiple approaches to Hebrew instruction and teach students at different levels of fluency across all four grades of high school. In addition to teaching Hebrew in the classroom, this colleague will model the use of Hebrew in the hallways and throughout the school, while promoting Israeli culture and building strong relationships with students. Qualifications: At least two to three years of experience teaching Hebrew in a formal classroom setting is required, ideally at the high school level. Experience with the Bishvil HaIvrit curriculum is a bonus. A master’s degree in education is preferred. The ability to support and teach students who learn language with difficulty would be highly welcomed but is not required. Pay: $60,000-$85,000
