About the Position:

Position Overview
We're looking for a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to provide in-home instruction and parent training for children with developmental disabilities. You will collaborate with families to implement individualized education and behavior support plans in the client's home setting. The cases typically occur after school, with some cases starting before school!
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Provide individualized academic and behavioral instruction in-home</li>
<li>Develop and implement behavior intervention plans using ABA strategies</li>
<li>Conduct Parent Counseling and Training (PCT) sessions</li>
<li>Monitor client progress and modify plans as needed</li>
<li>Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records and progress documentation</li>
<li>Stay current on best practices in ABA and special education</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Master's degree in Education or related field</li>
<li>Certified Special Education Teacher </li>
<li>1-2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities</li>
<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li>
<li>Ability to work independently in a home-based setting</li>
</ul>
 Preferred Experience
<ul>
<li>Experience delivering Parent Counseling and Training (PCT)</li>

Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY To provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment in which the children can grow physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually using the educational philosophies and goals of the program as guidelines. WHAT YOU’LL DO
<ul>
<li>Develop a daily routine consistent with the needs of the children.</li>
<li>Provide and ensure appropriate and sensitive interaction with the children at all times.</li>
<li>Provide and ensure appropriate supervision of the children at all times. </li>
<li>Provide and ensure appropriate language and positive methods of disciplinary intervention as defined by our staff policy.</li>
<li>Ensure that the Department of Health, Bureau of Day Care regulations are followed.</li>
<li>Prepare and maintain a safe clean, and well-organized learning environment.</li>
<li>Supervise teacher assistant (and substitutes) ensuring that all appropriate policies and guidelines are followed</li>
<li>Submit weekly and monthly lesson plans in approved format to Director/Coordinator.&nbsp; The plans should reflect the Department of Education’s required curriculum and NYS standards</li>
<li>These plans should be aligned with the program’s educational philosophy, the children’s interests, and group and individual learning goals.</li>
<li>Provide and implement well planned daily activities that encompass using a multitude of learning opportunities in all centers of the classroom.</li>
<li>Assess children’s learning through planned portfolios, written assessments, and informal and formal observations utilizing Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold.</li>
<li>Maintain all records, files and paperwork.&nbsp; Prepare classroom newsletters.</li>
</ul>

<li>Assist in planning school wide events and PBIS guidelines.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Establish and maintain professional communication with parents keeping them informed of their child’s progress, activities, and needs.&nbsp; Conference with parents three times yearly, or as needed, and provide written assessments of their child’s progress.</li>
<li>Maintain and respect confidentiality of child, parent, staff and other center issues.</li>
<li>Attends weekly staff meetings, in-service training and on and offsite professional development workshops, as determined by the school calendar.</li>
<li>Keep Director or Coordinator informed of incidents relating to accidents, concerns about child’s progress, or extra ordinary circumstances.</li>
<li>Appropriately represent the Center in all forums. </li>
</ul>
 OUR REQUIREMENTS Possess Professional NYS Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood education B-2 or Children with Disabilities B-2 OR Possess Initial NYS Teaching Certificate in early childhood education/Children with Disabilities B-2 and currently in the process of obtaining permanent certification. AND
