RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. General
The faculty consists of all individuals in the employ of Northeast College holding academic rank and engaged in instructional, scholarly and professional, or academic service activities for the College. These activities include, but are not limited to: laboratory, classroom, online, and health center instruction; work of professional librarians; course and curriculum development; research; participation in student advising, enrollment management functions, College governance; and service to one’s profession.
 
B. Teaching
• Each instructor is responsible for planning and presenting course material; establishing course objectives and requirements, and communicating them to students; selecting and ordering texts and supplemental materials; preparing, administering and grading papers and examinations; and assigning grades without discrimination, in accordance with the nondiscrimination policy as it appears in the College catalog.
• Specific responsibilities include providing students with appropriate, current course material consistent with the overall curriculum; assuring student comprehension and competency; and providing unbiased outcome assessments.

Summary The Education Specialist’s primary concern is the improvement of learning opportunities for students attending the New York Edge After School Program. The Educational Specialist is an on-site instructional leader who collaborates closely with the Education Department and the Site Director to support front-line staff (Academic Enrichment Coaches and Activity Specialists) in delivering skill-based curricula and thematic projects. The Education Specialist’s role is to support program instructional/enrichment goals by ensuring activities are structured, age-appropriate, and aligned to school-day instructional practices and model effective classroom management (as needed). The education specialist has the role of coach and consultant in advising the site director, teachers, academic enrichment coaches, and activity specialists who work within the after-school program.

Essential Job Functions:

Ensures classroom instruction aligns with New York Edge quality standards during academic and enrichment activities 
</li>

Provides oversight of curricula implementation to support school-day instruction. 
</li>
<li>
Observe and provide feedback to activity specialists, teachers, and group leaders daily, providing advice and modeling lessons as needed. Maintains an observation/feedback log documenting the help provided. 
</li>
<li>
Ensures activity lesson plans and projects are age-appropriate and have clear learning objectives. 
</li>
<li>
Assesses the effectiveness and success of the approved curriculum and recommends changes based on student work. 
</li>
<li>
Documents student progress and projects through multimedia, e.g., photos from cellular phone 
</li>
<li>
Coordinates the administration and implementation of academic assessment systems 
</li>
<li>
Submits a summary report of student achievements at the end of each cycle to the Principal, the Site Director, and the Education Department. 
</li>
<li>
Provides at least six hours of on-site professional development based on the needs of the activity specialists and tutors. 
</li>
<li>
Attends bi-monthly workshops. 
</li>
<li>
Serves as an instructional coach and mentor for front-line staff 
</li>
<li>
Plans and implements staff development as it relates to instructional strategies and classroom management 
</li>
<li>
Other duties as assigned.

Qualities we’re looking for:

 Qualifications:

Experience working with students with differentiated learning styles.

Summary:
The Nurse Educator provides education and evaluation to direct care staff in the performance of delegated nursing tasks. The Nurse Educator collaborates with the training department to facilitate medication certification training, and other health-related training courses, for employees. The Nurse Educator coordinates all hospital/rehab admissions/discharges and completes a post hospitalization review. The Nurse Educator serves as a leader and assists the nurse managers to ensure the safe, effective, and productive treatment of individuals at all times. This position could create performance-enhancing learning opportunities for staff and to ensure quality care for the individuals CDS Monarch supports.
 Essential Job Functions:
<ul>
<li>Coordinate with the Training Department to provide or coordinate required education and training to staff including medication certification, new employee orientation, CPR/First Aid, and other specific health-related needs.</li>
<li>Assist with on-boarding and mentoring of new nursing staff.</li>
<li>Consult with Manager(s) of Nursing to provide additional training and hands-on skills practicums to nursing and direct care staff, including assisting with completion of medication practicums for staff who require new certs and annual certs.</li>
<li>Remain aware of changes and requirements for OPWDD and other regulatory bodies and assists in maintenance and revision of clinical policies and procedures as needed.</li>
<li>Assist in maintaining all required documents per Agency policy and procedures.</li>

<li>Assist with Nursing coverage of groups homes/day habs, as requested by leadership, due to planned or unplanned Nursing absences. </li>

<li>Adhere to all agency and program policies and procedures.</li>
