RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Summary:
 
The DJ Activity Specialist will provide enriching activities for high school youth. In alignment with the Community School Initiative and Richmond Hill’s Instructional Focus, all activities will support the needs of social emotional learning (SEL) and culturally responsive-sustaining education (CRSE), attendance intervention, as well as family and community-building. 
 
The DJ Activity Specialist would be responsible for supporting the development and facilitation of sessions that cultivate student knowledge of basic DJ skills and music production. The facilitator will work with the SAYA team to ensure proper instruction, skills learned, and opportunities for students to practice skills during club sessions and at school events. 
 
Reports to: Community School Director
 
Compensation: $30-45 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is an in-person position for the school year through June 2026, with potential rehire for the following school year.
 
Responsibilities:

Must be available for hours from 2:00pm-4:00pm 2x a week

Design and lead meaningful, engaging, and creative age-appropriate lessons plans and curriculum, workshops, activities, events, and trips that are centering Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) within culturally responsive-sustaining education and strong social justice frameworks. Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years experience in DJing for events, productions, or other initiatives

Knowledge and understanding of youth development, afterschool and public education
</li>

Knowledge and/or experience working in music production, including but not limited to: beat matching, mixing, scratching

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities, people and projects effectively

Experience in providing individualized and group instruction to meet the needs of youth with various levels of skills

Reporting to the Building Superintendent, the Lobby Staff Member is responsible for the operation of the lobby for the residential tenants including security for the entire building and managing all deliveries and guests for the residential tenants. A qualified candidate must show initiative and good judgement in performing their job efficiently and effectively and must always provide superior customer service skills. The position duties include but are not limited to monitoring all people entering and exiting the building, vetting all visitors and announcing guests of residents, opening the door for residents and guests entering and exiting the building, assisting residents and guests with packages or luggage, keeping careful records of all packages/deliveries coming to and leaving the building. Some heavy lifting may be required. Position will perform other related duties as assigned by Building Superintendent or Property Manager.
