GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The primary responsibility as a lifeguard is to prevent drowning and other injuries from occurring. Candidates must be able to ensure the safety of patrons by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors. This person will need to be able to solve on-the-job issues by utilizing effective critical thinking and decision-making skills and possess the ability to work with diverse populations. 
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Your first responsibility always is to protect the well-being of each individual swimmer.
• Opening and closing the pool each day according to scheduled hours.
• Actively guards and scan the pool area at all times; refrains from socializing while guarding. 
• Communicate and enforce all Northeast College policies, procedures, and New York State of Health regulations in a personable and professional manner. 
• Educate patrons, inform them of the purpose, and need for rules and regulations.
• Maintain watch over the pool area ensuring a secure and safe environment.
• Respond quickly to all injuries, incidents, and emergencies as directed by college policy. 
• Administer any first aid needed by a victim of an accident.

Sunshine Camp has been around for over 100 years, and we are proud to provide a summer camp experience where we strive for accessibility and inclusion for all. Sunshine Camp involves two consecutive 1-week sessions. Most counselors work both sessions, but this is not required. We are an overnight camp, so counselors will reside on campus and sleep in a staff building for the duration of the each session. In addition to the two weeks of camp, we hold a mandatory pre-camp orientation weekend for all staff at camp. Orientation gives our new staff a chance to meet everyone, get acquainted with campus, and receive important training. Counselors are paid $500 for each session worked, as well as $125 for attending orientation. In addition to counselors, we are also hiring program staff for summer 2025. Program staff work at camp all summer. So if you are looking for longer-term summer work, you can be considered for a position with program staff as well.

<li>Conducts service appointments with members which includes body fat analysis, nutritional counseling, proper use of fitness equipment, the proper form of exercises, etc.</li>
<li>Consults with members to determine and define needs and problem areas.</li>
<li>Conducts study or survey on members needs or problems to formulate an appropriate solution to achieve desired fitness goals.</li>
<li>Advises members on methods of solving needs or problems and recommends specific solutions.</li>
<li>Determines a members current physical status based on personal health and physical history.</li>
<li>Develops an individual exercise program consistent with the members personal fitness and exercise goals.</li>
<li>Educate and assist members with exercise equipment, physical fitness, and realistic physical expectations.</li>
<li>Continually monitors and assists members to ensure proper form is used when performing exercises.</li>
<li>Continually monitors facility, including locker rooms for cleanliness and tidiness.</li>
<li>Achieves monthly revenue goal established by the Fitness Manager.</li>
<li>Works closely with sales team on involving new members in personal training. </li>

Qualifications &amp; Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>Current certification from a nationally recognized organization approved by Senior management.</li>
<li>Must be willing to obtain certifications as defined by Company policy.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and customer service skills.</li>
<li>Experience in designing and implementing fitness regimens.</li>
<li>Current CPR/AED certification.</li>
<li>College degree in fitness related field with practical work included is preferred but not required.</li>

SUMMARY 
Family Service League is seeking a per-diem Recreational Aide for our RECESS program in Mastic. The Recreational Aide will assist in providing therapeutic recreation to children ages 7-14. The Recreational Aide will be responsible for engaging in therapeutically appropriate activities with the children, providing individual support, and accompanying the driver for pickups and drop offs. RECESS operates for 26 sessions per year on Saturdays. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>The Recreational Aide will accompany the transportation provider to pick up all confirmed participants at their homes.</li>
<li>Engage with children during the program.</li>
<li>Assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities that are therapeutically appropriate for participants.</li>
<li>The Recreational Aide will relate positively with other staff, supervisors, participants, and families.</li>
<li>Complete all the required Agency training.</li>
<li>Must be able to use video conferencing.</li>
<li>All other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>

QUALIFICATIONS 
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. 
Must have at least 1 year experience working with children diagnosed with serious emotional disturbances, as well as knowledge of child development and emotional disorders presenting in children. 
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records, are required. 
Candidate must have excellent engagement and communication skills and must enjoy working with children. 
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills required. 
Valid and clean New York State Driver’s License required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 
Must be physically capable of getting on and off passenger van that is used for pickups and drop offs.
