ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
<ul>
<li>Complete intakes for new clients and provide orientation to the facility and DHS rules and regulations.</li>
<li>Serve meals and snacks to clients during meal times</li>
<li>Perform regular area inspections to ensure that shelter rules are adhered too</li>
<li>Monitor sitting areas, laundry rooms and cafeteria to ensure all clients are adhering to shelter rules</li>
<li>Maintain a clean and organized storage area</li>
<li>Document and track locks for all lockers</li>
<li>Maintain lock log</li>
<li>Assist with intakes</li>
<li>Assist clients with securing property within assigned locker</li>
<li>Store and remove client property from the client storage/locker area as appropriate</li>
<li>Relocate items and furniture as necessary</li>
<li>Assist security team as needed</li>
<li>Cover operations desk when necessary</li>
<li>Maintain required documentation in case records in writing and computer database (CARES) and update client’s records in accordance with governmental and agency policy.</li>
<li>Collect and make copies of client identification and other documents necessary during initial intake.</li>
<li>Assist clients in daily living skills and assist with cleaning area, laundry, hygiene and etc.</li>
<li>Launder and fold all agency towels, wash cloths and shelter linens after clients have left the facility.</li>
<li>Follow laundry schedule to ensure that all used linens are washed and stored as appropriate.</li>
<li>Attend and participate in all required agency meetings: staff meetings, house meetings, in-service training and weekly/bi-weekly case review</li>
<li>Perform regular inspections of all client areas</li>
<li>Respond to incidents as appropriate</li>
<li>Answer phones when necessary</li>
<li>Assist with all house operations</li>
<li>Assist with maintenance duties as needed</li>
<li>Review logbooks at start of each shift to ensure that all new client intakes are completed within 24 hours as required.</li>
<li>Perform all/other duties as directed by management. </li>
</ul>
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree preferred. Food Handlers Certification required. 1-year experience dealing with homeless or special needs population. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of DHS requirements and protocols

Summary:

Essential Job Functions:

<li>Act as mandated reporter if there is reasonable suspicion to suspect abuse or neglect of Individuals and make all required reports in established timeframes, as required by the NYS Protection of People with Special Needs Act. </li>
<li>Maintain certifications to distribute medications to Individuals as assigned, perform Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R) and/or PROMOTE, and perform First Aid and CPR. </li>
<li>Must be able to enter the swimming pool to ensure safety while individuals are utilizing the pool as assigned. </li>
<li>Prepare meals for individuals while adhering to recommended diet/meal plans. </li>
<li>Perform and/or assist individuals with personal hygiene tasks as well as performing daily home tasks as needed. </li>
<li>Complete all documentation related to daily services provided within required guidelines. </li>
<li>Transport individuals in an Agency vehicle. </li>
<li>Maintain all required trainings (classroom and online) relevant to the position. </li>
<li>Comply with and adhere to established NADSP core competencies/goals.</li>
