Position Overview: 
The Overnight Resident Assistant (RA) assists families in service plan implementation by obtaining and providing feedback regarding their progress toward service plan goals. The RA performs overnight tasks necessary for maintaining the physical appearance and overall cleanliness of the property and buildings. Responsible to provide continued respect, support, and care, and a family atmosphere for clients of the facility and fellow staff members. Strives to ensure a safe, secure, healthy, clean and positive environment for client families as they make their transition from homelessness through after-care.
Experience &amp; Requirements:

Duties &amp; Responsibilities include:

OVERVIEW: The Center for Youth's multiple residential programs include Emergency Shelter for youth ages 12-17, Crisis Nurseries for children under 14, and Transitional Living Programs for youth and young adults ages 16-24. All provide emergency and independent living supports and services to runaway and homeless youth (RHY) 7 days a week and all year round. The Overnight RHY Resident Assistant (RA) Float position provides on-site engagement and support that is strength-based and mutually respectful. Residents are approached from an asset-based perspective so that staff can form partnerships that help identify issues, concerns, and needs and then the strategies required to address them. The team's ultimate goal is to provide emergency and transitional care and support to families in crisis and homeless youth in a safe, respectful environment and to work with them to resolve the issues that led to their homelessness so that they can ultimately secure and maintain a stable living environment. The Overnight RHY RA Float position works out of the TLP Devonshire Apartment program, where it provides support and coverage at the other residential sites as needed. This includes transporting youth from the emergency shelter to school when needed. This is a part-time position, Thursday-Saturday, 10:00 pm - 8:00 am, 28.5 hours per week.

Position Overview
The Resident Assistant Supervisor at Marillac Family Shelter in Albany, NY ensures a safe, healthy, clean, and positive environment for resident families as they make their transition from homelessness through aftercare. This role is responsible for managing overall program operations during evening and weekend shifts, while maintaining a respectful, supportive, caring and family-style atmosphere for all residents and staff members.

Experience &amp; Requirements

<li>Ability to work: Monday-Thursday &amp; Saturdays: 4:00pm-12am w/ flexibility as needed.</li>
<li>Associate’s Degree, required; BSW or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, preferred.

<li>Prior supervisory experience in homeless services and relatable life experience may be considered in lieu of education.</li>

<li>Clean and Valid New York State Driver’s License (actively licensed at least one year) required. </li>

Duties &amp; Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Establish and maintain professional working relationships with residents as well as other Shelter staff, keeping appropriate personal boundaries in accordance with all agency policies, procedures and practices.</li>
<li>Supervise Resident Assistant staff, Senior Resident Assistants, and provide oversight of the Activities Coordinator while providing documentation and feedback regarding job performance to each staff and to the Program Director as necessary.</li>
<li>Intervene in crisis situations and assist with conflict resolution as needed by providing mediation and facilitating communication.</li>
<li>Participate in professional development programming on a regular basis.</li>
<li>Rotate the on-call beeper and provide coverage of the program when needed.</li>
<li>Document interactions with families, using critical incident reports, intake information forms, progress note section of case files, log, etc. Ensure the Resident Assistant staff document all resident activity in HMIS.</li>
<li>Clearly communicate concerns and suggestions to Program Director.</li>
<li>Actively contribute to the maintenance of a “client supportive” and respectful community.</li>
<li>Manage responsibilities of telephone and reception desk staff.</li>
<li>Additional position-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.</li>
