As a Direct Support Professional in our Residential Services program, you will provide essential support to individuals living in a group home setting. Your role includes assisting with daily routines such as personal care, meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks-creating a safe, supportive, and home-like environment. You'll help residents build life skills, maintain their independence, and engage in meaningful activities both at home and in the community.
Pay Rate: $19.00 – $20.00 per hour (based on program site) + Additional $2.00/hour weekend shift differential
Compensation varies by location (program site), with hourly rates ranging from $19.00 to $20.00 per hour. Employees working weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) will receive an additional $2.00 per hour.
Typical Schedule Options:
We offer a variety of schedule options to meet your needs - and ours. While we can't list every available shift, here's what a typical schedule often looks like for this position:

<li>Encourage and support the person to take part in volunteer, educational, recreational and work activities in their community.</li>
<li>As needed, provide medication administration support to each person based on their skills and abilities as defined in their plan(s); comply with all Agency policies and procedures relative to the administration of medications to people supported.</li>

In this position, you will:
 
· Help residents achieve/exceed their personal goals
· Provide structure and emotional support 
· Assist in resolving behavioral issues
· Help people supported with personal hygiene needs 
· Complete detailed, accurate documentation 
· Transport program participants to and from medical appointments and recreation activities using Agency vehicles 
 
We require:
 
· Clean, valid NYS Driver’s license 
· High School diploma or equivalent 
· Some experience working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled population preferred; but will train. Cooking and light housekeeping may be required. 
· Must obtain and maintain AMAP (within six months of hire) and SCIP certifications
· Prior experience as Caregiver, Care Assistant, Personal Assistant, Resident Assistant, Direct Care Worker, Nursing Assistant, Home Care Aide or Companion is a plus
