Overview
Employed by PAGNY for NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island. The hospital is academically affiliated with SUNY Downstate Medical Center and trains their medical students and OBGYN residents.
Kings County is located in the East Flatbush/Prospect-Lefferts section of Brooklyn, close to the 2 and 5 subways. Our patients are diverse, with the majority being Afro-Caribbean. Most of our patients are native English speakers. Knowledge of French/Haitian Creole is helpful, but not required.
 
Responsibilities
Provide clinical and administrative supervision to all Attending Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and allied health professionals on the relevant acute inpatient service (child inpatient).

<li>Oversee relevant acute inpatient service functioning including, but not limited to:

<li>Policies and procedures regulating delivery of patient care on the service</li>
<li>Coordination of care between disciplines and functioning of interdisciplinary treatment teams.</li>
<li>Supervision and coordination of inpatient leadership.</li>
<li>Establishing, monitoring and maintaining professional standards of work in collaboration with other disciplines coordination of professional staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage at all times.</li>

<li>Maintains up-to-date knowledge of standards for certification by regulatory agencies.</li>

<li>Ensure and monitor that the pharmacological components of treatment plan reflect the exercise of professional judgement for the medication treatment including diagnosis, target symptoms, risk and benefits of particular medication, and consideration of alternate treatments.</li>
<li>Ensure that the rationale for each patient's course of treatment is documented by the physician</li>
<li>Include all above in standards of work expected of Attending and Nurse Practitioner and monitor and reinforce said standards of work</li>
