Family Service League is seeking a part-time Peer Specialist for the DASH (Diagnostic, Assessment, and Stabilization Hub) Crisis Center in Hauppauge. The DASH Crisis Center is a 24-hour per day, 7 day per week outpatient crisis stabilization program that includes a 24-hour crisis hotline and mobile response team. The Peer Specialist will engage and support individuals, children and adults, utilizing the Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center by sharing lived experience and maintaining a trauma informed environment. 
RESPONSIBILITIES

Extended Day Activity Instructors lead after-school programming for children and teens at New York Edge after-school program sites. Compensation
Compensation for this role is between $77,000 to $120,000.
Starting pay is determined using various factors including but not limited to relevant full-time teaching experience, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Candidates without full-time Teaching experience will likely have a starting salary of $77,000.&nbsp;

As a Senior Peer Bridger, you will oversee and support a team of Certified Peer Bridgers who provide peer support services to individuals facing mental health challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effective delivery of peer support programs and the professional development of your team members. You will provide guidance, supervision, and coordination to ensure the highest quality of care and adherence to organizational standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

<li>High School Diploma, GED (General Equivalency Diploma) required, College degree in related field a plus.</li>
<li>At least two years’ experience working as a Senior Peer Bridger, demonstrated experience working as a Certified Peer Bridger or in a similar peer support role. Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity is a must.</li>
<li>New York State Certified Peer Specialists certification (Active) - or must be Re-certified within 5 months of hiring. </li>
<li>Strong understanding of mental health challenges, recovery-oriented approaches, and the principles of peer support. Familiarity with evidence-based interventions and current trends in trauma informed mental health care and substance abuse systems. </li>
<li>Proven ability to provide effective supervision, coaching, and mentorship to a team of professionals. Strong leadership and team-building skills to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.</li>
