The Teacher of the Deaf /HH or Early Childhood Special Educator serves a pivotal role within Clarke’s birth-3 program, conducting evaluations, providing individual SI sessions, virtually and in person and leads SI groups, such as parent/infant groups, toddler groups and parent support groups.
 
Clarke’s EI program uses parent coaching approach, to increase parents/caregivers capacity to use strategies and skills to support each child’s overall development, increase amplification use, and to apply listening and spoken language techniques outside of the intervention setting.
 
The EI teacher works closely with Clarke’s EI team of Speech Pathologists, Audiologist, OT/PT, service coordinator and other educators to support infants and toddlers who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families.
 
This is a full time, 35 hour per week position that follows the preschool 6-week summer schedule and academic calendar Sept-June, with the possibility of flexible scheduling for any parent groups meeting outside of regular business hours.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
 
· Provide individual and group Early Intervention special instruction and support services following each child’s learning planning and in keeping with EI regulations and Clarke’s policies and procedures.
· Conduct evaluations following EI regulations and using appropriate tools such as standardized measures, questionnaires, parent report, and observation.
· Support parents/caregivers of children who are deaf or hard of hearing in Clarke’s birth-3 program by providing information, resources, connection and guidance about hearing loss related topics, typical development, and Early Intervention.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Academy Charter School Science Teacher implements engaging lessons aligned to standards with the aim of educating students by designing, developing, and delivering quality lesson plans and curricula that adhere to school guidelines. Teachers create a safe, open environment where a structure is maintained, and student progress is assessed. Differentiation and accommodations should also be provided to allow all students to grow. Finally, teachers are also expected to ensure that safety rules are followed and ensure the proper use of equipment.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Evaluate student performance on tasks established by the standards using different methods such as observation, performance-based tasks, or other standard test practices</li>
<li>Establish classroom and lab rules and regulations</li>
<li>Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students</li>
<li>Participate actively in coaching and professional development programming</li>
<li>Assist with school programming as needed during non-instructional time</li>

Pay Transparency: The salary range for this role is $62,500 - $120,000. Base pay offered may vary within the posted range based on several factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

Ideal SETSS candidate has experienced with students with visual and hearing impairments as well as ACC device and technology use. Hours per week: During the school year: 10-15 hours/week with one student - with potential additional hours as desired. During the Summer: 25-30 hours/week with one student. Experience with AAC and FM devices is desired! A creative mind that can anticipate his challenges and adapt his assignments in a timely manner is necessary. Planning time is paid and supervision and mentorship as well as materials is provided by the agency. Training and continuous support will be provided upfront and ongoing by collaborative teachers (Vision Teacher), agency Occupational Therapists and his parents. Job Summary
QSAC Special Education Teachers require NY State certification (Students with Disabilities/B-2, 1-6, 7-12).
