Argo Group International Holdings, Inc., a Property &amp; Casualty insurer and a subsidiary of Brookfield Wealth Solutions Ltd, is currently seeking a Financial Reporting Senior Accountant for its financial reporting group. The successful candidate will leverage their accounting expertise within a collaborative team environment to generate high-quality financial statements and provide insightful analyses for effective internal and external reporting. The team holds a prominent position within the company and actively engages in finance projects and initiatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
<ul>
<li>Participate in the preparation of our group consolidated financial statements, including footnotes to the financial statements and other disclosures </li>
<li>Participate in the preparation and review of financial reports and filings with the Securities &amp; Exchange Commission (SEC) and other regulatory bodies </li>
<li>Assist in the preparation of US STAT audited financial statements</li>
<li>Manage relationships between corporate finance management and various international and domestic affiliate finance units </li>
<li>Lead, or participate as a member of, cross-functional teams for various corporate-level projects, including financial systems implementations, process improvement initiatives, and merger &amp; acquisition finance integration and reporting </li>
<li>Participate in research and application of US GAAP and SEC regulatory requirements </li>
<li>Prepare or review annual subsidiary-level financial statements and related audit support </li>
<li>Assist with the preparation and review of internal and external audit requests </li>
<li>Other reporting or relationship management responsibilities and projects, as needed </li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>Minimum of 2 years of experience in Audit or Advisory with a public accounting firm, or 3-5 years of experience in the reporting unit of a publicly traded company </li>
<li>Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited four-year college or university (MBA or business master's degree a plus) </li>
<li>CPA or exam-eligible and actively pursuing CPA license </li>
<li>Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, and internal controls </li>
<li>Effective communication and relationship-building skills </li>
<li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including compiling, analyzing and validating large, disparate data files and reports in Excel </li>
<li>Humble, team-first oriented contributor </li>
<li>Resilient in the face of adversity, self-motivated, and comfortable working under the pressure of tight deadlines while managing competing priorities </li>
<li>Comfortable functioning in a group with high corporate visibility </li>
<li>Willingness to remain flexible and adapt to changes in a fast-paced, challenging, entrepreneurial environment </li>
<li>Ability to work independently and within a team setting </li>
<li>Possesses process improvement mindset </li>
<li>Insurance industry experience (preferred) </li>
<li>Experience with Workiva WDesk</li>
<li>Experience with general ledger/consolidations software such as Oracle, FCCS, etc. (preferred) </li>
</ul>
The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
New York City Pay Range:$116,200—$138,300 USD
