Position Overview:
The Bravehearts will create a new and innovative resource in the Rockland community for young adults to seek support and empowerment from their peers while advocating for the improvement of services and the inclusion of youth voice by expanding Braveheart motivational meetings and support services to youth within the target population as detailed by the grant, within Rockland County. The Braveheart Peer Navigators will used both lived and leadership experience and expertise to nurture, develop and facilitate the activities of the Rockland Bravehearts movement both administrative and programmatically. 
In addition, this position will require the ability to coordinate and facilitate biweekly (as need expands, weekly) Braveheart meetings in Rockland for youth. Peer to Peer Navigators need to be facilitate focus groups, forums and activities to engage youth to address systemic concerns.
Position Qualifications:
Candidate must have a GED or high school diploma and have personal experience with the child welfare and/or mental health system in the areas of navigating the educational, employment, wellbeing and housing systems and resources. Must have basic understanding and computer literacy skills with Microsoft office such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Must have basic organizational skills and strong oral communication skills. Must have experience and ability to navigate the public transportation system. Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of culture, race and issues facing adolescents of color. Under specific/routine supervision, the Assistant Athletic Trainer assists the Head Athletic Trainer with overall care of men's and women's intercollegiate athletic program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

<li>Provide coverage at assigned games and practice sessions;</li>
<li>Oversee work-study students and/or student intern athletic trainer(s);</li>
<li>Provide quality care for athletic injuries including evaluation, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and related illness;</li>
<li>Document injuries;</li>
<li>Process insurance claims;</li>
<li>Perform other administrative duties as they arise;</li>
<li>Maintain confidentiality of information (including but not limited to: student and employee personal information, student grades, etc.), both during and after their employment with the University. Any question regarding the confidentiality of material, should be referred to the supervisor. Any violation shall subject the employee to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. </li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
% of Time
75% Provides coverage at assigned games and practice sessions; oversees work-study students and/or student intern athletics trainer(s); provides quality care for athletic injuries including evaluation, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and related illnesses.
15% Documents injuries; processes insurance claims; works with NU Drug and Alcohol Education and testing programs; performs other administrative duties.
10% Communicates with Head Coaches of assigned sports in regards to injuries and rehabilitation.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS:
The functions of the position usually performed standing, but may require some amount of time sitting. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying and other movements may be required. This position requires some traveling. Tasks involving working on a computer keyboard, computer software applications, calculator, wrapping, taping, labeling, and cutting and involve extensive wrist and hand movement. This position requires some traveling. All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements without significant risk of injury to themselves or others.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
<ul>
<li>Bachelor degree in athletic training or related field required. Master's degree preferred.</li>
<li>NATA certification required.</li>
<li>NYS Certification or ability to gain certification within the first year of employment.</li>
<li>American Red Cross CPR/FA instructor preferred.</li>
<li>Valid driver's license required. License must meet insurance company rules and regulations for driving underwriting criteria.</li>

Purpose of Position
As a Registered Behavioral Technician, you will engage directly with clients in a home-based environment, adhering to treatment plans established by the BCBA Supervisor. Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to, creating program materials, executing treatment procedures, fostering transparent communication with supervisors, accurately collecting and managing data, and engaging in continuous training and assessments. Additionally, you will support parent training and clinical evaluations, promoting ethical conduct and compliance with Kids First’s policies.
Responsibilities

<li>Work 1:1 with clients in the home-based and clinic-based setting.</li>
<li>Consistently follow and implement treatment plans set up by the BCBA Supervisor and prepare program materials; treatment protocols that include a wide variety of domains such as toilet training, communication, social, and adaptive living skills.</li>
<li>Maintain open communication with the BCBA Supervisor to review program goals and procedures for each client.</li>
<li>Collect and maintain accurate data and notes utilizing data collection software.</li>
<li>Review and implement consultation/supervision note recommendations.</li>
<li>Participate in ongoing training, evaluations, and meetings, as required by Kids First.</li>
<li>Assist with parent training and clinical assessments, as needed.</li>
<li>Communicate appropriately and effectively with colleagues and families, as needed.</li>
<li>Track supervision hours and annually renew the RBT certification as mandated by the regulatory body to maintain the certification.</li>
<li>Work ethically and with integrity while following the BACB Ethical Code.</li>
<li>Understand and adhere to HIPAA policies as well as Kids First’s policies and procedures.</li>
