The counselor will ensure the appropriate and safe use of all enrichment equipment and obstacles. Additionally, the counselor is responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of the playrooms, enrichment rooms, dog room, outside area and equipment as well as other areas of the facility as assigned. The Dog School Enrichment Counselor works under the supervision of and reports to the Dog School Manager.
Primary Duties

<li>Knowledge of OSHA general safety regulations, PPE, energy control, confined space, chemical safety, and fall protection.</li>
<li>Skills at a mastery level in at least one area of Maintenance, including electrical fabrication, refrigeration, welding, controls programming, etc.</li>
<li>Advanced knowledge of common wear points on equipment and following manufacturer lubrication recommendations.</li>

<li>Own an extensive variety of quality tools, including SAE and Metric, to perform mechanical repairs on automation equipment.</li>

Education/Experience:
<ol>
<li>A minimum of GED or High School Diploma is required.</li>
<li>Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a mechanical automation field</li>
<li>Technical trade, military training, or technical college is strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Must have experience with VFDs, stretch or blow molding, conveyors, pumps, Pneumatic sanitary valves, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems.</li>
<li>Experience with programmable logic controllers, instruments, and controls</li>
<li>Experience with closed cooling systems, including evaporator towers, water cooling towers, and chillers.</li>
<li>Experience working in a food manufacturing environment preferred.</li>
<li>HVAC experience is a plus.</li>
</ol>
Performance Standards:

<li>Responsible for reporting to work at scheduled times and communicating tardiness and absences with the assigned Supervisor/Manager prior to the occurrence.</li>

Work Schedule:
<ol>
<li>Requires morning, afternoon, and overnight availability any day of the week based on assigned shift.</li>
<li>Requests to be scheduled off for a specific day require advance notification and approval by Supervisor/Manager.</li>
<li>Hourly: Generally scheduled for 36-48 hours (12-hour shifts); more hours may be required based on the needs of the business. </li>
</ol>
Environmental:
<ol>
<li>Normally protected from weather and temperature changes, possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions does exist.</li>
<li>May be subject to exposure to ingredients used in the manufacture of food products, including allergens.</li>
<li>May be subject to exposure to chemicals involved in the manufacture and sanitation of a food processing facility.</li>

Physical Job Requirements:

<li>Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, including but not limited to office, production, and warehouse environments. Including the outside perimeter of the building.</li>
<li>Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.</li>
<li>Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with a meal break.</li>
<li>Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and move objects exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.</li>
<li>Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions.</li>

The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Byrne, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate for the current range is $31.00 to $41.00. This position is also eligible for a sign-on bonus of $10,000 to be paid out in increments within a candidate's first year of employment.
