Job Summary: As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Time Limited Rental Assistance Clinical Social Worker (LMSW/LCSW/LMHC) works with up to 31 program participants ages 18-24 experiencing homelessness who are preparing to transition to permanent housing in the community, while gaining job training, employment, and educational and life-skills competencies. The Clinical Social Worker participates in the Sanctuary Model of care to insure trauma-sensitivity to all residents. 
Major Duties:
<ul>
<li>Provides individual and group counseling, using agreed-upon models.</li>
<li>Facilitates regular psychoeducational groups to participants on a broad range of topics as it pertains to their goals for living independently and maintaining housing.</li>
<li>Functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team. Participates in Case Review Meetings, Interdisciplinary Conferences, and other related meetings.</li>
<li>Participate in home visits with a team member to assess if a participant is in crisis.</li>
<li>Attend and participate in GSS meetings and trainings as directed, as well as any external meetings/training.</li>
<li>In collaboration with other team members, arranges for wrap-around services in the community the program participants will be residing in.</li>
<li>Responsible for documenting services/contacts on the GSS program database and other such city databases, as well as additional specific documentation in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Supports the Sanctuary model of trauma informed care.</li>
<li>Effectively uses and practices the Sanctuary Model tools: safety plans, community meetings, psycho-educational groups, team meetings, red flag reviews, treatment planning conferences (or similar), and self-care in the program to create a non-violent and trauma-sensitive culture.</li>
<li>Promotes and models the seven Sanctuary Model commitments to create a non-violent and trauma-sensitive culture.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as required.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Master’s Degree in Social Work Required, NYS LMSW; NYS LCSW Required OR</li>
<li>Master's Degree in Mental Health Counselling and NYS LMHC will be required</li>
<li>Clinical work with youth preferred; including crisis management.</li>
<li>Must have a clear understanding of the needs of young adults experiencing homelessness and a sensitivity to ethnic and cultural differences, and an understanding of the needs of the LGBTQ community.</li>
<li>Must have the ability to communicate with staff on all levels.</li>
<li>Demonstrated competence in verbal, written, organizational, and prioritization skills.</li>
<li>Capability to transition easily between working independently with a high degree of self-initiative and contributing as part of a team.</li>
<li>Excellent crisis intervention, advocacy and problem solving skills.</li>
<li>Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based, youth development and trauma-informed perspective.</li>
<li>Flexible hours to insure access and availability.</li>
<li>Bilingual – Spanish not required but preferred.</li>

The Awesome Things You’ll Do

<li>Manage Front Desk, Greet, take messages and ensure all who enter feel welcomed</li>
<li>Using a multi-line switchboard, answers and appropriately routes internal and external calls.</li>

Our Must Haves 
<ul>
<li>3 years of front desk experience with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and able to multi-task. </li>
<li>HS/GED equivalent minimum requirement</li>
<li>Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures</li>
<li>Knowledge of telephone techniques and etiquette.</li>
<li>Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system, computer and other standard office equipment.</li>
</ul>

<li>Handle a high volume of calls with courtesy, speed, and accuracy.</li>
<li>Maintain effective working relationships with staff; communicate with the public in a courteous professional manner using tact and patience. </li>
<li>Work independently with general supervision; understand and carry out written and oral instructions.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office, excel, word, etc.     </li>
<li>Participate in required professional development and trainings as assigned or approved for professional job growth.</li>
