The New York City Criminal Justice Agency (CJA) is a not-for-profit service and research organization that operates in partnership with the New York City Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice.  CJA is the City's main pretrial services agency, combining operations, pilot projects, and research under one roof.  CJA utilizes procedural justice practices to provide pretrial services to over 100,000 persons arrested annually in New York City. POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of a Peer Supervisor, The Peer Specialist will provide person-centered, recovery-oriented, strength-based, and trauma-informed Peer support for clients who met the eligibility criteria of high-risk and high needs and require a support team to meet with them where they are at regardless of their location in NYC. The Peer Specialist is dedicated to promoting wellness and supporting recovery journeys within the community. As an essential part of and integrated and multi-disciplinary Clinical Services Department at Queens Supervised Release, the Peer Specialist aims to empower clients in enhancing their mental health, fostering resilience, and facilitating their path to recovery and wellness. By offering compassionate care and tailored support, this role endeavors to create new opportunities for success and well-being for those in the highest of needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>As part of an interdisciplinary team of Peer Specialists, Behavioral Health Specialists, Licensed Clinicians, Clinical Care Coordinators and Housing Specialist , the Peer Specialist will be responsible for managing a caseload of 10-15 high-needs (serious mental illness, substance use, homelessness) participants at a time, providing face-to-face community-based Peer counseling. </li>
<li>Provide court-based Peer support to participants upon their release from arraignment to Supervised Release. Identify immediate needs or concerns and facilitate immediate connections to community-based services. </li>
<li>Engage with participants within community settings to offer emotional support, guidance, advocacy, assistance in navigating care systems, accompany them to court dates, and build trust and rapport.</li>
<li>Coordinate with assigned case management staff and other service providers to review participants' release conditions. Utilize evidence-based support techniques to encourage individuals to attend all supervision appointments and court appearances. Provide referrals to community-based treatment and support services as required.</li>
<li>Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the mental health system and broader community, ensuring they receive appropriate services and resources.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate, efficient, and timely documentation of participant interactions and progress notes in an electronic case management system, with a focus on accurately collecting data for programmatic research purposes. </li>
<li>Assist clients in identifying their goals for recovery and wellness and providing support to help them achieve these goals.</li>
<li>Collaborate with other members of the Case Management care team to ensure coordinated and holistic care.</li>
<li>Engage in ongoing self-advocacy and self-care practices to maintain personal wellness and resilience, which in turn supports the ability to effectively support others in the community.</li>

QUALIFICATIONS

<li>NYS Peer Specialist certification OR Recovery Peer Advocate certification required </li>
<li>2 years of professional experience as a Peer Specialist, Peer Advocate, or Peer Counselor in a Behavioral Health or Criminal Justice setting required</li>

<li>History of lived experience in recovery and/or the criminal justice system required. Hours &amp; Scheduling Expectations
This is a visible role with direct client-facing responsibilities engaging with clients, staff, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will possess the required qualifications and skills, and the ability to work in-person 5 days a week.

<li>To provide optimal coverage for client engagement, regularly scheduled workweeks will include weekends and night shifts.</li>

The Teacher of the Deaf /HH or Early Childhood Special Educator serves a pivotal role within Clarke’s birth-3 program, conducting evaluations, providing individual SI sessions, virtually and in person and leads SI groups, such as parent/infant groups, toddler groups and parent support groups.
 
Clarke’s EI program uses parent coaching approach, to increase parents/caregivers capacity to use strategies and skills to support each child’s overall development, increase amplification use, and to apply listening and spoken language techniques outside of the intervention setting.
 
The EI teacher works closely with Clarke’s EI team of Speech Pathologists, Audiologist, OT/PT, service coordinator and other educators to support infants and toddlers who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families.
 
This is a full time, 35 hour per week position that follows the preschool 6-week summer schedule and academic calendar Sept-June, with the possibility of flexible scheduling for any parent groups meeting outside of regular business hours.

· Provide individual and group Early Intervention special instruction and support services following each child’s learning planning and in keeping with EI regulations and Clarke’s policies and procedures.

Summary
Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Peer Specialist for the Clinical Rapid Response Team (CRRT) will play a critical role in providing immediate support and assistance to individuals experiencing health crises, and will assist in preventing future crises, leveraging lived experience to build trust, empathy, and connection, and guiding them toward resources that promote healing, recovery, and well-being. The Peer Specialist will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team, supporting individuals through the crisis intervention process and fostering a culture of person-centered and strength-based care. This is a new team, and the peer specialist will play a critical role in skill acquisition for the high acuity clients.
Responsibilities
Program/Facilities
<ol>
<li>Provides support and resources/referrals for individuals being served to meet health objectives, including but not limited to:
<ol>
<li>Health, mental health treatment, and substance use services</li>
<li>Non-medical wellness services (yoga, meditation, exercise, etc.)</li>
<li>Social and community integration activities</li>
</ol>
</li>
</ol>
<ol>
<li>Provides guidance, support, and side-by-side skills modeling to people in our care on an on-going basis.</li>
<li>Responds to crises throughout the agency to help avert hospitalizations. When that level of care is necessary, Peers will ensure a person is admitted and follow up care is in place prior to discharge. </li>
<li>Helps create preventative and wellness plans that may include goals, objectives, and interventions. </li>
<li>Promotes client self-advocacy skills.</li>
<li>Organizes and facilitates individual and group wellness activities including workshops, groups, and social activities for our high acuity clients </li>
<li>Completes incident reports and distributes related notices within 24 hours.</li>
</ol>
Administrative
<ol>
<li>Maintains and submits all necessary documentation and reports accurately in a timely manner and as required by Urban Pathways, regulatory and funding agency policies, and procedures including but not limited to:</li>
</ol>
<ol>
<li>Enters progress notes after meeting with individuals under our care within 48 hours and/or in compliance with Urban Pathways and funding agency requirements.</li>
<li>Updates information in electronic health records, as required.</li>
<li>Documents incidents and distributes related notices within 24 hours when the Peer Specialist has witnessed the incident. </li>
<li>Submits all required paperwork for supervisor approval within 48 hours.</li>
<li>Files paperwork in electronic charts (once approved/signed by supervisor), as required by program (no more than 48 hours).</li>
</ol>
Community Relations
<ol>
<li>Develops and maintains relationships with community services and resources with particular emphasis on substance/alcohol use programs, health and mental health programs, and benefits.</li>
<li>Attends and participates in external meetings with stakeholders</li>
</ol>
Communication
<ol>
<li>Communicates verbally, and in writing in a professional manner. </li>
<li>Attends staff meetings, trainings, and supervisory sessions, as required.</li>
<li>Responds to all communications including telephone, email, and other oral and written inquiries in a timely manner.</li>

Performs all other duties as assigned and as required.
QualificationsEducation and Experience

<li>High School diploma or GED required. </li>
<li>Completion of Peer Advocacy/Specialist Training Program Required. </li>
<li>Experience using behavioral health services (mental health, co-occurring substance use treatment) as a client. </li>
<li>Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings. </li>
<li>Experience with individuals with a history of homelessness, mental illness, substance use and chronic medical conditions, preferred </li>

Skills

<li>Good computer skills and/or ability to learn computer programs including Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) and data programs such as AWARDS. </li>

Responsibilities
Integration Charter School is seeking an experienced and student-centered Allied Health Teacher to support the development of a new healthcare certification track in partnership with Monroe University. This role will focus on preparing students for careers in the medical field through hands-on training in areas such as phlebotomy, EKG, and medical administration. Ideal candidates will bring both clinical experience and a passion for education, helping students build real-world skills and explore entry-level healthcare pathways in a supportive, forward-thinking learning environment. 
 Teach high school Living Environment and prepare students for success on the NYS Regents Exam.
 Lead instruction for Monroe Universitys Allied Health certification track, delivering coursework and clinical training in areas such as phlebotomy, EKG, and vital signs.
 Provide hands-on skills training and ensure students meet clinical benchmarks (e.g., number of successful vein punctures and vitals recorded).
 Collaborate with Monroe University to align curriculum, expectations, and student supports.
 Help set up and manage on-site clinical equipment (e.g., scales, thermometers, EKG machines).
 Balance recordkeeping responsibilities for both high school and college platforms (PowerSchool and Blackboard).
 Support students readiness for certification exams or clinical assessments.
 Participate in planning and data meetings with ICS and Monroe teams to ensure strong outcomes.
 Build a classroom culture rooted in career readiness, professionalism, and scientific thinking.
 Provide real-world context and mentorship that connects content to meaningful healthcare careers.
Competencies &amp; Qualifications 
 Masters degree in Allied Health, Biology, Nursing, or a related clinical or science field (preferred).
 510 years of experience in a clinical setting (e.g., medical assistant, nurse, phlebotomist, clinical educator).
 NYS certification in Biology/Living Environment or eligibility to obtain.
 Prior teaching or training experience strongly preferred, especially with high school students.
 Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
 Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) NYS standards for science and CTE alignment.
 Comfort using student data platforms and maintaining accurate academic/clinical records.
 Passion for working with diverse learners, particularly students with IEPs or non-traditional learning paths.
 Ability to travel to Monroe Universitys Bronx campus on occasion.
