The anticipated salary range is $70,000.00 to $90,000.00&nbsp;for a candidate who will work in New York City. The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience to the job, education, and certifications.
A Culture Team Member at Nuasin Next Generation Charter School will:

<li>Mediate conflict between scholars in a restorative manner.</li>
<li>Refer scholars to mental health resources.</li>
<li>Helping scholars understand and overcome social or behavioral problems through classroom guidance lessons and counseling</li>
<li>Counseling individuals and small groups as determined by mandates.</li>
<li>Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to help scholars succeed.</li>
<li>Reporting possible cases of neglect or abuse and referring scholars and parents to resources outside the school for additional support.</li>
<li>Assist scholars with High School applications.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Conduct at risk counseling sessions for scholars who may need support.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of intervention programs that effectively address the needs of at-risk scholars.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Keep detailed and up to date scholar behavior records and collaborate with parents, teachers and other members of the staff to implement behavior plans.</li>
<li>Establish strong parent-school relationships and meet with parents regarding scholar behavior and interventions provided.</li>
<li>Plan, develop, and execute parent, teacher and scholar workshops in collaboration with social workers/counselors.</li>
<li>Plan, support and attend special school events (Talent Show, Prom, Graduation, etc.).</li>
<li>Create, maintain, and update accurate scholar records, documenting all aspects of the incidents and interventions.</li>
<li>Participate in scholar academic referral processes, as needed.</li>
<li>Provide reports of incidents and interventions on a weekly basis as specified by the Director of School Culture.</li>
<li>In partnership with school administrators, ensure scholar attendance is above 95% for all scholars.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Observe and give feedback to teachers regarding behavior management and restorative practices that result in increased performance.&nbsp;</li>

mandates; caseload may vary by assignment. Typically ~20-30 hours/week, depending
on placements, with additional cases and hours available with coordination with our recruitment team. 
Compensation

SUMMARY
Extended Day Activity Instructors lead after-school programming for children and teens at New York Edge after-school program sites. The activity instructor will teach or co-lead activities in one of the following areas: STEM, visual art, performing art, literacy, student leadership and character development, sports, health and wellness, business, finance and entrepreneurship, math, media arts, journalism, botany, and urban agriculture, history. The activity instructor has a dual reporting role, supporting the curriculum and instruction department team by designing lesson plans and implementing curricula across New York Edge program sites. They will also support the program director by preparing activity materials and explaining principles, techniques, and safety procedures to student participants. The Literacy Specialist is a multi-site instructional leader who collaborates closely with a team of Site Directors to support front-line staff (Academic Enrichment Coaches and Activity Specialists) in delivering Literacy-based curricula and thematic projects.
