Job DescriptionWe're currently seeking a Machine Operator to join a growing team within the cannabis industry! This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with immediate openings available.
Responsibilities:
- Operating production machinery: Setting up and running automated and semi-automated equipment, including potentially filling and labeling machines.
- Monitoring and adjusting machine performance: Ensuring product quality, efficiency, and adherence to production specifications and speed outputs.
- Inspecting finished products: Ensuring products meet quality standards and identifying and reporting any defective materials.
- Performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting: Cleaning and maintaining equipment, addressing malfunctions, and coordinating with maintenance when needed.
- Following safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP): Maintaining a clean and sterile work environment and adhering to safety regulations.
- Record keeping and reporting: Documenting production data, including materials used, task time, waste, and finished product outputs.
- Collaborating with team members: Working effectively within a team environment to meet production targets.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Mechanical aptitude: Experience working with production machinery and mechanical systems, with a willingness to learn and understand their operation.
- Attention to detail: A strong focus on quality and consistency in both machine operation and product output.
- Ability to follow directions and standard operating procedures (SOPs): Adhering to established guidelines for machine setups, production processes, and quality control.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills: The ability to identify and address equipment issues effectively.
- Physical ability: The capacity to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weight (20-30 pounds, sometimes up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks.
- Basic computer skills: Potentially required for data tracking and using PLC-based systems.
- Effective communication: The ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and team members.
