Position Summary
The Field Supervisor oversees the activities of on-site staff and ensures that cleaning, garbage pickup, construction or maintenance projects are completed efficiently and safely. Will also assist with work order and repair scheduling, mold abatement, and other assigned tasks so they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Field Supervisor will conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, and NYC, state and federal laws (OSHA, ADA and Fair Housing). Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Manage Porters at assigned locations.
- Supervise and set schedules for pick-up of garbage.
- In RealPage, assist with scheduling of work orders.
- Oversee mold repairs as required within first 60 days of property takeover.
- Visit properties where construction is taking place, so construction crews and material is not placed in unapproved locations, including basements and hallways.
- Must be present at all tenant evictions.
- Working along with Inventory Manager to ensure adequate supplies in response to violations.
- Help assign staff for HQS, Section 8 and HPD repairs
- Walk buildings daily to ensure property condition and locks are secure
- Coordinate Porters for putting out the garbage
- Maintain regular communication and effective relationships with tenants, vendors, local community and city agencies
- Complete required documentation in support of assigned duties.
- Identify potential risks to the project and notify manager
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Experience with NYC Housing Authority, building renovations and work order management experience preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Strong computer and administrative skills; including Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
- Proficiency with property management software such as RealPage
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Significant work performed at buildings and properties.
- Some sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Will need to stand and walk for extended or continuous periods of time.
- Must be able to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
- Will be required to travel outside in varying outdoor weather conditions.
