We are seeking a Trust & Estate Associate Attorney with a minimum of one year of experience in tax-focused estate planning. This position involves advising clients on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax matters, drafting complex estate planning documents, and supporting wealth transfer strategies. The ideal candidate will have a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation and a strong interest in working with high-net-worth individuals and families.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on estate planning, wealth transfer strategies, and tax-efficient structuring
- Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents
- Analyze federal and state estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax issues
- Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and fiduciaries to implement comprehensive planning solutions
- Assist with probate and trust administration, including preparation of tax filings
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex tax and estate matters
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in estate and tax law
- Participate in client meetings and help develop long-term planning strategies
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing with the state bar
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in trust and estate planning with a tax focus
- Strong knowledge of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws
- Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple client matters and meet deadlines
Desired Qualifications

- Familiarity with fiduciary income tax and probate procedures
- Proficiency in estate planning software and tax research tools
- CPA certification or background in accounting or finance
