Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in receiving, processing, and filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and label medications, ensuring correct dosage forms and quantities.
- Manage inventory by ordering, stocking, and organizing medications and supplies.
- Process insurance claims and resolve third-party billing issues.
- Maintain patient records and protect confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Answer patient questions courteously within the scope of practice and refer clinical inquiries to the pharmacist.
- Assist with compounding non-sterile medications as directed by the pharmacist.
- Support medication reconciliation and quality assurance activities.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and compliance standards in the pharmacy workspace.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with pharmacy regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program preferred.
- National certification (CPhT) preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail, hospital, or long-term care pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong computer and data entry skills; familiarity with pharmacy management software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
