Job Opening: Tax Certiorari & Real Estate Transaction Attorney (Full-Time) – New York
Rosenberg Law Group, PLLC, a leading New York-based real estate law firm, is seeking a talented Tax Certiorari & Real Estate Transaction Attorney to join our team. This full-time position is ideal for an attorney who has experience handling property tax assessment reductions (Tax Grievances) and is equally comfortable managing real estate transactional matters.

Position Overview
The ideal candidate will have experience in both Tax Certiorari (property tax grievances) and real estate transactional law. You will manage a diverse caseload involving property tax assessment challenges, contract negotiations, and real estate closings.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Certiorari / Grievance Work:

Handle property tax grievance filings, including Assessment Review Commission (ARC) submissions and Small Claims Assessment Review (SCAR) hearings.

Prepare and file petitions, legal memoranda, and supporting documentation.

Negotiate settlements with assessors and municipal officials.

Represent clients in SCAR and Supreme Court Tax Certiorari proceedings.

Conduct research on property valuations and assessment methodologies.
Real Estate Transactions:

Draft and negotiate contracts of sale, leases, and related transactional documents.

Manage real estate closings, title reviews, and due diligence.

Coordinate with lenders, title companies, and opposing counsel.

Provide legal guidance to clients throughout the transaction lifecycle.

Ensure compliance with New York State and local real estate regulations.
Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Admission to practice law in New York State (Required).

3-5 years of experience in Tax Certiorari / Grievance matters.

Experience handling real estate closings and transactional matters.

Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.

Excellent legal research and writing abilities.

Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently.

Client-focused with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Knowledge of New York property tax law (RPTL) and local municipal practices.
