Job DescriptionSalary: $15.50-$26 per hour
Summary:
The Lawman Groups private sector General Construction Division, Design Build Innovations, LLC (DBi), is seeking offers a Construction Carpenter. The ideal candidate will work across several trades within the general construction department in both interior and exterior jobs. The Construction Carpenter will build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and other materials needed to assist with various types of general commercial construction projects.

Essential duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintain and service equipment they are using
- Ability to study plans and specifications to determine the kind and quantity of materials they will need
- Check each component for accurate measurements
- Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors
- Cuts and shapes structures, forms, or other fixtures from metal, wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall
- Unloading and positioning prefabricated material and equipment for hoisting as needed
- Uses various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects
- Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive
- Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed
- Creates forms for pouring concrete or for tunnels, bridges, or sewer construction projects
- Erects and dismantles scaffolding
- Installs windows, doors, cabinets, countertops, trim, drywall, fixtures, flooring, roofing, and painting
- Adheres to local building and safety codes and guidelines
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment:
This position operates from various jobsites, in all types of weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations facilities
- Prolonged periods of standing on hard surfaces
- Requirements to traverse uneven terrain
- May require working around loud and hazardous construction equipment
- Ability to bend, climb, pull, push, balance, kneel, twist, and climb stairs & ladders
- Routinely lift up to 75 pounds
- Overhead work from ladders, lifting equipment and scaffolds
- Routinely work from elevated surfaces and always under fall protection
- Extended periods of time exposed to potentially harsh environments elements
- Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment
- Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and satisfactory hand-eye coordination
Position Type/ Hours:
The hours for this position vary from job to job with typical working hours of 7am-4pm. Project needs and requirements may dictate a need to work outside of regular business hours.
Travel Requirements:
Must be available to travel locally to job sites and rarely travel domestically with overnight stays for business purposes, if necessary. A valid drivers license is required for this role.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Closely related responsibilities OR any combination of education and/or recent relevant experience to perform the job duties of this position
- Must be able to legally work in the United States as all employees will be verified through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security eVerify system
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of codes
- OSHA-10 (Construction)
- 1 year of recent/relevant experience in your trade
- Welding license
- Safety and first-aid practices
