Traveling Sterile Processing Technician (NYC – Local Travel Only)
Must be based in the NYC area | Home hospital + local travel coverage
Surgical Solutions is hiring experienced Sterile Processing Technicians to support Sterile Processing operations across NYC. This role is assigned to a primary (home) hospital and will travel to other local hospital sites within the territory as needed to provide coverage and ensure consistent quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of sterile processing: decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, wrapping, and sterilization
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards and department policies
- Maintain complete and accurate instrument sets, trays, and surgeon preference cards
- Support maintenance and repair processes for laparoscopic instruments and scopes as needed
- Build strong relationships with SPD teams and hospital partners through professionalism and reliable service
- Maintain required credentialing, medical clearance documentation, annual competencies, and training
- Use required technology daily (including SCMP login/usage) and follow digital best practices across sites
Qualifications
- Active CRCST certification required
- Sterile Processing experience required (endoscopy experience preferred)
- High school diploma/GED required; some college preferred
- Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and customer service mindset
- Ability to travel locally in NYC up to 100% of the time (no overnight travel)
- Availability for rotating shifts including weekends/holidays and on-call coverage
