Our Summer Rising Program at P.S. 35Q Nathaniel Woodhull School offers students enriching, club-like experiences that promote academic achievement and leadership skills. Position: Activity Specialist (K8)
Were seeking Activity Specialists with talent and enthusiasm in areas such asdance, drama, STEAM, sportsor other enriching disciplines. This is a seasonal, in-person role ideal for educators, teaching artists, or youth development professionals who are passionate about engaging and inspiring students.This in-person, seasonal position runs fromJuly 2 - August 15thand offers hands-on experience in education and youth development, with the potential for continued employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement age-appropriate enrichment activities in your area of expertise.
- Promote independent growth by encouraging critical thinking, working in partnerships, and collaborative groups.
- Assist with physical education, visual arts, and performing arts.
- Escort students between activities in a timely, orderly manner.
- Support certified staff with lesson planning and classroom prep.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, activities, and incidents.
- Attend required trainings, meetings, and program evaluations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Program Director.

Position Details
- Job Type: Seasonal, In-Person
- Compensation: $19/hour
- Hours: 3540 hours/week, 11am-6pm
- Schedule: July 2 August 15, MondayFriday (must be available full term)
- Minimum Requirements: High school diploma; interest in working with youth
