Job Title: Field Engineer
DETAILS:
• Duration: Permanent Direct Hire with benefits
• Location: Brooklyn, NY
• Salary: $85,000 - $123,000 depending on skills and experience
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
We are currently seeking a Field Engineer in Brooklyn, NY.
Position Summary and Special Duties:
As a Field Engineer, your day-to-day duties will consist of, but may not be limited to:

• Perform various sequences of complex troubleshooting and repair techniques on manufacturing equipment’s electrical/electronic or mechanical systems, such as:
- ATC (Automatic Train Control)
- ACSES (Advanced Civil Speed Enforcement System)
- Braking systems
• Apply complex and unique techniques and procedures to analyze, troubleshoot, build, maintain, and repair complex rail car equipment.
• Analyze failures to reduce rail car downtime, perform root cause analysis, and identify engineering solutions to improve rail car uptime.
• Support all aspects of testing, including Engineering Tests and Conditional Acceptance Testing.
• Assist in training Technicians according to newly issued procedures and FMI guidelines.
• Receive and distribute technical information to the site technical workforce.
• Act as a liaison between Project Engineering and the Site Technical group, including customer relations.
• Monitor the technical validity of complaints from customers and work reports from technicians and vendors.
• Explain and resolve all technical queries from customers at work sites.
• Monitor the proper maintenance and use of tools and equipment at the work sites.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience in electrical engineering for rail car, rolling stock, or closely related industries.
• Seven (7) years of analytical/troubleshooting experience with electronic systems preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in schedule control, cost management, and personnel management.
• Good computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Proficiency in bilingual (English/Japanese) verbal and written skills at a business level is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and feel comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and lift, push, or pull a minimum of 40 lbs.

The work environment involves managing technical operations in an active rail car manufacturing and testing facility. It includes both indoor and outdoor settings with strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
