We’re looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee and improve day-to-day production in our small but fast-paced electronics assembly business. This role blends operations leadership with strong project management, supporting everything from scheduling and purchasing to quality and continuous improvement.

You’ll wear multiple hats and play a key role in ensuring on-time delivery, smooth production flow, and operational efficiency across the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily manufacturing activities including final product assembly and testing, calibration activities.
  • Plan and coordinate production schedules in line with sales forecasts and history.
  • Manage inventory and purchasing of components, tools, and consumables while minimizing freight costs.
  • Drive small-scale improvement projects (e.g., workflow optimization, equipment upgrades, workspace layout).
  • Collaborate closely with engineering on New Product Introductions (NPI) and prototype builds.
  • Train and support production staff; assist with cross-training and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Track key production metrics (quality (PFT), downtime, throughput etc.); recommend actions to improve performance.
  • Maintain safety and quality standards (ESD, UL, ISO).
  • Serve as point person for internal and customer production updates.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, ideally in a small business or startup environment.
  • Experience managing or coordinating production teams and schedules.
  • Strong understanding of electronic testing and assembly processes.
  • Solid project management skills: ability to scope, plan, and execute projects with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of ERP or inventory systems (Acumatica).
  • Practical, hands-on approach to solving problems and improving operations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Nice to Have (But Not Required):

  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma tools (e.g., 5S, root cause analysis).
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025or ISO 9001 practices.
  • Experience supporting prototype or low-volume, high-mix production.
  • Familiarity with calibration practices.

What We Offer:

  • A collaborative team and the chance to make a direct impact on business performance
  • Flexibility and autonomy in a small, growing company
  • Competitive salary, benefits, and potential for growth into a senior leadership role
