Job Description

WT HVAC Supply, a premier Daikin distributor, is searching for a detail-oriented Commercial HVAC Estimator specializing in equipment pricing. In this role, you will review project requirements, interpret technical documents, and prepare accurate proposals focused solely on HVAC equipment. You will also collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely, competitive, and precise estimates for Daikin VRV/VRF systems and other commercial HVAC products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Document Review

Examine project specifications, blueprints, and other documents to determine equipment requirements and scope.
Verify alignment with local codes, industry standards, and project specifications related to HVAC equipment.

2. Equipment Cost Estimation & Proposal Development

Perform take-offs for required HVAC equipment, focusing on accurate quantity and component selections.
Prepare professional and comprehensive equipment proposals that address clients’ budgetary and technical needs.

3. Daikin VRV/VRF Expertise

Leverage deep knowledge of Daikin VRV/VRF systems and other commercial HVAC products to recommend the best solutions.
Provide guidance on equipment capabilities, installation considerations, and best practices.

4. Value Engineering

Identify opportunities to optimize cost-effectiveness by recommending alternative equipment options, improved product selections, or system configurations.

5. Project Coordination

Manage multiple equipment estimates simultaneously, ensuring proposals are completed on schedule.
Coordinate with the purchasing department or manufacturers to confirm product availability, lead times, and delivery logistics.

6. Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Present equipment proposals to developers, engineers, and other decision-makers, clearly explaining technical and pricing details.
Serve as a resource for any questions about product capabilities, specifications, or industry standards.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with internal teams (e.g., sales, operations) to validate feasibility and confirm accuracy of equipment estimates.
Provide technical product support and updates to staff as new Daikin or HVAC product lines become available.

8. Continuous Improvement

Stay informed of current market prices, product developments, and evolving best practices in HVAC equipment.
Proactively suggest improvements to internal estimating processes to enhance proposal accuracy and turnaround times.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of commercial HVAC estimating (equipment-focused) or relevant industry experience.
HVAC Knowledge: Familiarity with Daikin VRV/VRF systems and a strong understanding of commercial HVAC equipment and market trends.
Blueprint & Code Proficiency: Ability to interpret blueprints, equipment schedules, and relevant HVAC codes.
Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with estimating software is advantageous.
Organization & Multitasking: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple estimates in a fast-paced setting.
Independence: Able to work proactively with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.
Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills for product presentations and stakeholder discussions.

Pay: $4,000.00 per month
