Job Description
A well-respected, boutique law firm that primarily represents landlords in landlord / tenant disputes, is seeking a NY Barred Attorney to join its top-notch legal team. The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of landlord/tenant experience, but we are open to newly barred attorneys eager to gain hands-on experience. This is an on-site role with a firm located on Long Island. Travel to housing court is necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice to clients on landlord-tenant issues, including lease agreements, evictions, and tenant rights.
- Go to housing court 4 to 5 times a week every morning in 1 of the 5 boroughs.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations.
- Draft and review legal documents, including leases, eviction notices, and settlement agreements.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Assist in educating clients about their rights and responsibilities under landlord-tenant law.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Experience as an admitted attorney is required. No landlord tenant experience is required, but it is PREFFERED
- Active state bar license in New York.
- Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to client service.
