A nonprofit services organization in New York City is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work with the ID/DD population at one of their schools in the Bronx.
About the Opportunity:
<ul>
<li>Schedule: Monday to Friday</li>
<li>Hours: 7am to 3pm or 8a to 4p or 9am to 5pm (flexible)</li>
<li>Population: 24 students</li>
</ul>
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Schedule appointments with Primary Care Providers and appropriate medical specialists</li>
<li>Support school staff with health documentation, compliance audits, and reporting</li>
<li>Communicate with families and interdisciplinary teams when appropriate</li>
<li>Make appropriate referrals for dental, hearing, vision screening and other identified problems</li>
<li>Taking vitals</li>
<li>Handling other duties, as needed</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Active NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license</li>
<li>Must pass required background checks (including SCR)</li>
</ul>
Desired Skills:
<ul>
<li>1+ year of experience working with children or adults with Intellectual / Developmental Disabilities</li>
<li>Experience with School-based Nursing </li>
</ul>
