Job DescriptionAbout the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-driven QEI-Certified Elevator Inspector to join our team in Long Island. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of elevator and conveyance systems, strong familiarity with ASME A17.1 and A17.2 codes, and a commitment to ensuring public safety through thorough inspections and reporting.

Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct inspections, tests, and evaluations of elevators, escalators, lifts, and other conveyance equipment in accordance with local, state, and national codes.

  • Document inspection results clearly and accurately, including deficiencies, violations, and recommended corrective actions.

  • Ensure compliance with ASME, OSHA, and jurisdictional regulations.

  • Communicate findings to building owners, maintenance contractors, and internal teams.

  • Stay current with changes in codes, safety standards, and best practices.

  • Participate in periodic training, audits, and quality assurance activities.

Required Qualifications


  • Current QEI (Qualified Elevator Inspector) Certification and NYS Dept of Labor Elevator Inspector License.

  • Strong understanding of elevator codes, standards, and field inspection practices.

  • Valid New York State drivers license and reliable transportation.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage inspection schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NYC DOB Elevator Inspector License in addition to QEI license
  • Experience working in the New York/Long Island area.
  • Familiarity with digital inspection/reporting tools.
  • Additional mechanical, electrical, or elevator-industry background.
