About the Role…
As a Lead Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance operations, ensuring that all equipment, systems, and facilities are properly maintained to support smooth business operations. This role combines hands-on repair and preventive maintenance work with leadership responsibilities, guiding a team of technicians and coordinating with other departments to maximize uptime, safety, and efficiency.
Meet the Team…
The Maintenance Team is responsible for maintaining the plant equipment we use every day here at our facility. Electro-mechanical technicians work directly with machine operators and manufacturing supervisor to maintain smooth operation of the line during the shift. The team’s goal is simple, make sure our equipment is running as efficiently as possible so we can continue doing what we do best – bottle spring water at the source..
About the Work Environment…
This position is located at the Johnstown, New York production facility. We believe that each CG Roxane, LLC employee contributes to our daily success and our future goals. Therefore, we have a rich training program which ensure our team is able to gain the skills needed to adapt and grow in our ever-changing industry. The candidate will a be required to work in an environment that requires hairnet, beard cover and hearing protection. Restrictions include wearing of jewelry, nail polish and acrylic nails. Other personal protection equipment may be required for certain tasks.
What You’ll Do…
- Leadership & Supervision
- Assign daily maintenance tasks and monitor progress for quality and timeliness.
- Provide training, mentoring, and performance feedback to maintenance staff.
- Serve as the first point of contact for technical escalations and complex repairs.
- Coordinate efforts with other technicians involved in installing/maintaining equipment or components, to ensure that systems function properly
- Support in the communication of current and new projects to the maintenance team in a clear and concise manner.
- Support the management of work and vacation schedules of production maintenance technicians in order to meet the demand of production and maintenance needs.
- Maintenance Operations
- Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on machinery, building systems, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other equipment.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies.
- Communicate with machine operators, understand and have a working knowledge of equipment to detect equipment problems, analyze malfunctions and verify system problems.
- Perform corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance to detect and prevent problems
- Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic systems using schematics and technical drawings
- Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors and other equipment at facility as required.
- Modify, lubricate, adjust, and improve equipment efficiency
- Project & Work Order Management
- Prioritize and schedule work orders based on operational needs.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports. Document parts and material usage.
- Support in organizing and handling of suppliers and/or contractors as needed.
- Attend meetings in order to plan and schedule maintenance issues with other managers affected.
- Safety & Compliance
- Conduct regular safety checks and enforce safe work practices.
- Maintain compliance with all environmental and safety regulations.
- Lead or participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Understand and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation.
- Personal Protective Equipment is to be used where required.

Work Experience
- 5 + Years of in field experience
- 5 + Years of work experience
- Experience with CMMS
- Experience in recycling, injection molding, or other plastic process
- Experience may include a combination of work experience and education
Competencies
- Mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate with people at all levels in organization
- Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work 8-hour shifts, day or night, on a rotating schedule
- Previous experience with plastics extrusion desirable
- Added Technical Skills:
- Strong Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues in electronic systems using various techniques and tools.
- Circuit Analysis: Understanding how electronic circuits function and analyzing their behavior.
- Electronic Components: Knowledge of different components like resistors, capacitors, transistors, and their applications.
- Schematics and Diagrams: Reading and interpreting electrical and electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Measuring Instruments: Using tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, megohmmeter, and signal generators to test and analyze circuits.
- Soldering: Skill in soldering and desoldering components for repairs.
- PLC Programming: Understanding and programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation.
- Robotics and Automation: Knowledge of robotic systems and automated processes in industrial settings.
Education
- High School Diploma/GED required
- AS/AAS in Industrial Maintenance or similar program preferred
