Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Residential HVAC Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This position requires strong technical skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to ensuring each homeowner’s comfort and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC equipment and systems (furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, etc.).
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on residential HVAC systems.
- Accurately complete service orders and maintain detailed service records.
- Communicate effectively with homeowners regarding service issues, repair options, and recommendations.
- Ensure all work complies with company standards, safety policies, and local HVAC codes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and manage inventory of parts and tools.
- Provide emergency service as needed (rotating on-call schedule).
- Stay up to date with latest HVAC technologies and practices through continuous training.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of residential HVAC service experience.
- EPA Universal Certification required.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Valid NY State Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying environments (attics, basements, outdoors).
