The Opportunity:
We are looking for a multi-skilled candidate who can balance project management and interior design ability with good people skills. The Facilities Manager is responsible for creating a suitable working environment, expanding our existing footprint as we grow, and ensuring facilities are always clean among other duties.
The workload of a facility manager is complex and varied: managing budgets, leveraging technical knowledge, making quick decisions, and solving problems. Previous experience that will help identify potential issues and resolve any issues as soon as possible is preferred.
The ideal candidate will be well organized, have an eye for detail and able to optimize the use of space and equipment.

How I will Contribute:
- Design and recommendations of new facility building layouts to ensure optimal space utilization, operational efficiency, and alignment with the organizational goals.
- Ensure that facilities meet compliance standards with local, state and federal regulations including building codes, safety standards, and environmental laws.
- Plan by forecasting the facilitys upcoming needs and requirements based on organizational objectives planning for any facility growth that may take place.
- Oversee any renovations, refurbishments, and capital improvement projects to ensure they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Help with office relocations within the facility as needed by the business.
- Manage outsourced security guards to ensure a comprehensive plan is in place to protect the companys assets, including personnel.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of building security, fire alarm systems, and emergency preparedness protocols.
- Supervise all internal facilities personnel and external contractors across multiple locations, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and performance expectations.
- Allocate office space according to needs
- Administer service contracts with vendors and third-party providers, ensuring contractual obligations are met and cost-effectiveness is maintained.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial and non-financial records related to facilities operations, contracts, and compliance activities.
- Develop, manage, and monitor budgets for facilities operations, ensuring cost control and alignment with financial goals.
- Lead and coordinate with general contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to deliver construction and renovation projects successfully.
- Handle all aspects of landlord lease agreements, including negotiations, renewals, compliance, and relationship management.
- Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and inventory of office furniture to support a functional and aesthetically pleasing work environment. Ability to be on call for all security and maintenance emergencies
What You Bring to Safran Federal Systems:
- Bachelors degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred; or a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in facilities management or operations leadership.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally across all levels of the organization, including executives, staff, contractors, and vendors.
- Skilled in preparing comprehensive reports, memos, and operational documentation.
- Capable of reading and interpreting architectural and engineering blueprints and schematics.
- Experience in creating basic layout drawings or collaborating with design teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments, including construction, IT, HR, and operations.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing both in-house staff and third-party contractors.
- Demonstrated success in motivating teams, delegating tasks effectively, and maintaining high-performance standards.
- High level of accuracy in inspecting facilities, reviewing plans, overseeing renovations, and maintaining compliance with safety, security, and operational standards
- Able to analyze complex challenges related to infrastructure, maintenance, or compliance and develop effective, timely solutions that minimize disruption and cost.
- Confident in delivering presentations to stakeholders, preparing project updates, and presenting space planning or capital project proposals to senior leadership.
- Skilled in managing large-scale facility projects from conception to completion, including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, risk management, and quality assurance.
- Willing and able to travel approximately 20% of the time.
- Ensure that all facilitiesnew constructions, renovations, and existing buildingsmeet ADA standards for accessible design, including entrances, restrooms, workspaces, parking, elevators, and signage.
- Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to remain poised under all circumstances, and to interact effectively with people in a positive manner that engenders confidence and trust
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in high stress and conflict situations.
- Ability to simultaneously address multiple complex problems.
- The ability to frequently move items up to 50 pounds is needed.
