Job Overview:
Bright Star OT & PT, PLLC is seeking skilled and compassionate school-based Occupational Therapists to join our dynamic team. As a school-based Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting students to access the school curriculum and increase their independence in the school environment. This position is based in public schools and will involve working with students in elementary, middle and/or high school.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct school-based occupational therapy evaluations to assess student needs
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on students' needs and goals
- Provide therapeutic interventions targeting students' fine motor skills, visual motor skills, visual perceptual skills, and sensory motor skills.
-Document student progress and monitor goal attainment using a web-based Individualized Education Plan (IEP) program to document
- Monitor and assist with ordering adaptive equipment as needed
- Collaborate and communicate closely with teachers, related services providers, and school staff to support a cohesive, team-based approach
- Communicate with the Bright Star team to ensure continuity of care in alignment with company values to provide the best standard of care
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of pediatrics
- Proficiency in school-based settings
- Excellent communication skills

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current New York state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist

- Previous experience in a school-based setting is preferred, but not required
