Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, particularly in the mental health field, and the ability to manage the unique challenges of a startup. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate billing processes and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of medical billing, including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and accounts receivable follow-up.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies and government payers.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and denials, working collaboratively with insurance representatives and internal staff.
- Maintain thorough documentation of billing processes and communications.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to billing and revenue cycle management.
- Stay updated on changes in billing regulations and reimbursement policies relevant to outpatient psychiatric services.
- Assist in the development and implementation of billing policies and procedures for the facility.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
- Proficient in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 coding, and insurance reimbursement processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a startup environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., AAPC, AMBA) is a plus.
