A Hospitality / Concession Manager is responsible for overseeing the food, beverage, and customer service operations at a venue such as a stadium, arena, theater, or event center. Their job blends elements of hospitality management with retail and food service.
Key Responsibilities:
1 Operations Management
◦ Manage day-to-day operations of food and beverage stands, bars, or restaurants.
◦ Ensure cleanliness, efficiency, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
◦ Oversee inventory, ordering, and stocking of food, drinks, and supplies.
2 Staff Supervision
◦ Hire, train, schedule, and supervise concession workers and hospitality staff.
◦ Maintain a high level of customer service through staff training and performance monitoring.
◦ Manage labor budgets and staffing needs based on event schedules.
3 Customer Experience
◦ Ensure guests have a positive, consistent experience.
◦ Handle customer complaints or issues on-site.
◦ Develop strategies to improve speed of service and quality.
4 Sales & Budgeting
◦ Monitor sales and set targets to increase revenue.
◦ Track costs and manage budgets.
◦ Coordinate with vendors and partners for product sourcing and pricing.
5 Event Coordination
◦ Prepare concession areas for special events, concerts, or games.
◦ Collaborate with event organizers to meet specific hospitality needs.
6 Compliance & Licensing
◦ Ensure all necessary permits and licenses (alcohol, food handling, etc.) are up to date.
◦ Stay current on health department guidelines and food safety laws.
7 Menu & Product Development
◦ Work with chefs or food suppliers to create appealing menus.
◦ Test and introduce new food and beverage items to boost sales.
Experience in Sports arenas, Concert venues, Amusement parks, Convention centers are a plus.
