Job Title: Concierge

Position Summary:
The Concierge serves as a key customer service representative and initial point of contact for residents, families, staff, and visitors. This role provides hospitality-driven support, promotes a welcoming environment, and coordinates non-clinical resident needs, enhancing the overall quality of the resident and guest experience at United Hebrew.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet residents, families, and visitors with professionalism and warmth.
- Answer incoming calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Coordinate resident non-clinical services such as meal delivery requests, appointment reminders, or activity sign-ups.
- Communicate with various departments to facilitate smooth service delivery and respond to resident needs.
- Provide facility information, directions, and event updates.
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, document preparation, and logging visitor records.
- Assist with admission and discharge coordination, welcome packets, and resident orientation.
- Maintain security and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.
- Ensure the front desk, lobby, and reception areas are tidy, welcoming, and professionally presented.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of customer service, hospitality, or healthcare experience, preferably in a long-term care or senior living environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general office equipment.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with sensitivity to diverse resident needs.
- NYS Security Guard license preferred.
Physical and Environmental Demands:
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequent reaching, bending, twisting, and stooping may be required.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally (e.g., packages, welcome materials).
- Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as phones, computers, and printers.
- Ability to speak clearly and hear conversations in a busy environment.
Environmental Conditions:
- Work is primarily performed in an indoor, climate-controlled environment.
- May be exposed to interruptions, loud noise, or emotionally distressing situations when dealing with resident or family concerns.
- Occasional exposure to residents who may have communicable conditions, following standard infection control procedures.
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) may be required in certain situations.
