Employer: Medix Staffing Solutions
Location: Remote (Must reside within the continental United States)
Schedule: Part-time or Full-time (Minimum 15 hours per week; consistent schedule required)
Pay Rate: $30-$38 per hour
Contract Type: Long-term / Indefinite contract supporting hospital system backlog project
Projected Start Dates: Upcoming start cycles on the 2nd and 9th
Equipment: Provided (see deposit details below)
About the Role
Medix is hiring experienced Revenue Integrity Coders to support a large hospital system backlog project through a leading healthcare consulting partner. This position focuses primarily on outpatient hospital coding and offers flexible scheduling with long-term stability.
This is a fully remote opportunity for certified coders with strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and outpatient coding workflows.
Key Responsibilities

Accurately assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes for outpatient hospital encounters, procedures, and interventions

Apply appropriate modifiers to ensure compliant and accurate reimbursement

Review clinical documentation to ensure coding accuracy, completeness, and compliance

Identify and resolve coding discrepancies, edits, and documentation gaps

Maintain productivity and quality standards while supporting backlog reduction efforts

Utilize coding and EHR systems in daily workflow

Collaborate with revenue cycle and clinical teams as needed
Required Qualifications

Active coding certification such as:
-
CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
-
CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
-
RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician)
-
Or equivalent coding certification

Strong experience with outpatient hospital coding

Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes, and modifiers

Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Must reside within the continental United States

Must commit to a consistent weekly schedule (minimum 15 hours per week)
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
-
Experience with 3M coding software
-
Previous revenue integrity or hospital-based coding experience
Equipment & Payroll Details

Equipment will be provided
-
A $500 equipment deposit will be deducted in installments of $50 per paycheck for the first 10 paychecks

The full deposit is fully refundable upon conversion or completion of the contract
